So, obviously I'm years late as shit on this, but I clicked through to that Jewlr page (which may not have the same pricing info as it would when this was posted), and if that's where the ring is from, having a black diamond in the middle instead of the "Genuine Diamond" saved Greg $800 on the cost of the ring.

Gemstone and non-traditional colored diamond rings are very popular, but seeing as how it's Greg, he totally tried to skimp out. Not that there's anything wrong with a cheaper ring, it's just blatantly obvious what the mindset behind it was.

If anything, he probably didn't even get a black diamond, but a smoky quartz. It's the stone for the month of June and only a whopping $29 here. Greg probably said it was a black diamond in case she ever got curious.

Yeah, no. As much as I dislike June, I really don't agree that Greg is in anyway out of her league. Annoying tryhard that she is, June can look decent and well put together when she's not doing that stupid ddlg shit. She also makes way more money than he does. Greg, on the other hand, is an overweight schlub who thinks he's the next Einstein, and is incredibly shit with what little finances he has, buying stupid nerd shit and overpriced cars.

In short, they both suck dick, but let's not pretend Greg could get any better than June. Probably why he got her an engagement ring as an appeasement gift in the first place, despite making it very public that he despises marriage.
