True. I have a dream for a free-er culture over there of less babying and holier than thou attitudes...(I just prefer it being an app that updates me... I might be lazy) But I guess it's just a dream. That's why I'm here. They start with good topics that go downhill extremely fast into the cuddle fest of destruction...
Kiwi Farms' culture is the reason we have what we have. People would be blogging about their super real health problems here, too, if we didn't handle them the way we do. Blogging isn't just discouraged with the TMI/powerlevel sticker. You don't just get a 24-hour ban or a mute. Blogging on a Kiwi thread is a
fantastic way to get yourself doxed and possibly your own halal thread where you will be mocked for years to come. You wanna talk about yourself? Cool, why don't we
all talk about you. We don't just have a freer, less hug-boxy space. We have a space that is built around the idea of free speech. We're one of the few places on the internet where you could post "Jonathan Yaniv is a man" without getting permanently banned from the platform. You're not going to import that culture to Reddit. Any sub that isn't hard right-leaning is going to really quickly fill up with the type of people who want to correct your pronouns, chastise you for using an un-woke word, or blast you for stating an unpopular opinion, and the hard right or the ones that are geared towards mockery (like FatPeopleHate) get quarantined.
I can tell you exactly what would happen if I started a sub to post my timelines on Reddit.
1) any newbies that stumbled blindly on it would feel the need to write a novel about what a wicked, evil person I was for bullying sick women; probably call me an incel neckbeard
2) the comments would fill up with blogging no matter how many times they were warned not to blog because there's no real threat there. Yeah okay, you can ban them but it's not like a ban can't be evaded.
3) if you try to enforce the no blogging rule with a dox/threat of dox, the sub would be banned because doxing is against reddit TOS
4) it would inevitably fill up with a bunch of SJW-types who only cared that I used the word tard or troon and discounted the entire post based on that; I'd either have to change my language to be more pc-friendly which, why the fuck would I do that, or I lose my reader base who would create their own hug box somewhere else like r/malingering did over Millie's avatar.
Most likely I'd end up getting kicked out of my own sub using the very same mechanisms IFA users are trying to use to oust IF mods (you'll notice I'm not participating or encouraging this right? Let them have their hugbox.)
