So Sargon was right? Gamergate DID get trump elected?

Interesting analysis otherwise but I think you’re way overestimating the effect that autists reeing about video games had on the normies
I wouldn't say that, but it really woke a large group of people up to how duplicitous the media actually was. It was a reminder of the JournoPro mailing lists and just how much the media is in cahoots with each other.

The sign of a truly stupid person is to always think you're smarter than everyone else.

The replies to the tweet, are totally predictable. "Hurr, he's so stupid, he doesn't even know what busing is!" Or "He's clearly got dementia!"

If he's as racist as people say, wouldn't he be well familiar with what busing is? If he's really a white supremacist Nazi, you would think he would be aware of policies like busing, government housing and homeless shelters that bring minorities into his neighborhood.

These people are so dumb, they don't even recognize a masterful sidestep when they see it. First he gives them a dismissive answer, but they keep pressing. If he says he supports busing, which by the way has been shown to cause more problems than it fixes, he alienates a large part of his base which opposes it, and not just for racist reasons. If he says he opposes it, he gets painted as a racist who just doesn't want minority kids in white schools. So he gives a flippant response and doesn't have to answer the question. Now the media is talking about his answer which everyone else can see is clearly sarcastic. Everyone who takes Trump's reply seriously is already affected by TDS and hate him anyway. So he ends up not pissing off anyone or giving his enemies ammunition against him. It's fucking brilliant, and these idiots can't even see Trump is playing them.

This is not the first time he's done this. His answer to the Assange arrest was perfect too. He knows about Wikileaks. We all know that's a fucking lie. But if he says he opposes it, the left and the media will accuse him of letting Assange off as a favor for getting him elected. If he says he supports it, he pisses of his base for punishing the man who exposed the previous administration. So what does he do? "I don't know anything about Wikileaks." It's such a perfect response. The media already accuses him of lying 10,000 times, what's one more? That hurts him zero.

These people are so smart they're stupid.

I know I didn’t know much about gamergate until I found threads discussing it here, I was gonna vote for the most un-Obama person who ran. Though I think the major impact it had was getting the press to overreact. They pulled out the big guns getting every paper to pen screeds against nerds who were mad about some nerd drama to try to crush it out of existence because it hurt their pride by resisting. Then everyone else started asking “wait, why is every press organ treating this nerd drama like it’s a massive deal? Why is this random chick who I’ve never heard of at the United Nations crying about mean tweets and video games?”
In their zeal to crush some intractable but minor upset that everyone would have forgotten about in a week if they stopped talking about it with the full weight of their media empire, they lost any ability to conceal said empire.

The way that the Left reacted to GamerGate is a perfect example of the Streisand Effect.

I'd consider their handling of that whole drama a case of winning the battle, but losing the war. In the grand scheme of things, GamerGate was just leftists and the media overreacting to nerd drama, but it was such a ridiculous and silly thing in hindsight that it got a lot of people to start waking up to what was going on.

If the media and the leftists were willing to put in all that effort into pointless nerd drama, imagine what they would do over something that was of actual importance.

Those kind of questions began popping up in people's minds and it's only now that more people are willing to express those feelings out loud.

Especially in the wake of things like the Dems throwing a shit fit over Kavanaugh, the Weeb Wars, the lefty clickbait mills like VICE and Buzzfeed hemorrhaging money like crazy, normies finally getting sick of TDS and Big Tech, and most of all, the DOJ investigations against Google in the wake of Project Veritas, maybe the SJW Left would have been better off if they let GamerGate go and not pursue it at all.

Sort the same here. Gamergate, or more specifcally the full court press from the media about Gamergate, is what started eroding my trust in the media*, and that the people who used to cry about how wrong censorship is had begun shifting into demanding the opposition be censored.

My initial thought was "Oh, el-oh-el, the gaming press is shit & in bed (literally in this case) with publishers, film at 11. Trading sex for reviews, I'm looking forward to some heads rolling after that comes out". I thought nothing really about it, having known game "reporting" was horseshit for some time, and laughing at how shocked people were about the curtain coming down.

Then there's this oddly coordinated media response. Same terms being used, no one is looking into the whore for some reason or trying to validate any critiques, no one's reporting on the shittyness of the game press only about angry nerds and how they have no right to be angry. Why is this getting press traction? Why is she going to the UN?

So yeah, that was when I started mistrusting the media, in more than a "Oh they're just trying to be sensational for ratings" way, and realizing they'd try to push a narrative. Then 2015/2016 happened.

*That's not quite true I suppose. The first time I started to realize the game was fixed was 2008 when the Daily Show made it clear they were going to be tonguing Obama's balls for the next 4 to 8 instead of giving him the roasting he was soon to prove he was due. I thought that was limited to one team of writers....found out that was wrong by orders of magnitude.

Incidents are like spiders: It's the little ones that get you.

Look at Rathergate. A small news story dunking on Bush became a triumph of citizen journalism and a symbol of a biased and incompetent mainstream media.

Watergate was the granddaddy of small incidents that blew up. A B&E that amounted to a frat prank became a big deal when the President got involved in covering it up. Amusingly, that incident probably stimulated the partisan wave of journalists who wound up punking themselves with things like Rathergate.

GG should have been nothing. Video game journalism is biased and stupid? Be still my fucking heart. But the reaction to the reaction went over the top, people tipped their hands. It was a small thing, but it got bigger than it would have if the idiot "journalists" had been able to act sensibly.

But whoever loses an autism war... The Farms win.

I think this is absolutely right. Watergate probably more than any incident before pushed the idea of the "hero journalist toppling a Republican corrupt politician". The sense of this that came after convinced a number of people that the key to making their mark in history as journalists was not to do good, thorough, and ethical work, but to make a name for yourself by toppling the powerful. Of course you toss in an already blatant but constantly growing partisanship and they focus more and more on taking down only very specifically-aligned targets. (I still think the MSM as a whole regrets actually covering the Bill/Monica story, and that this was reflected in the blatancy of which they turned a blind eye to all of Obama's scandals.) Watergate was essentially the final nail in the coffin of anything even vaguely like ethical, sincere journalism and the birth of generations of "I'm gonna get me a Republican scalp!" 'journalists'.

Isn't that the biggest problem with the Left as a whole though?
This overwhelming desire to be a "Hero" and "Make a Difference". Combined with overwhelming Laziness, Incompetence, Hypocrisy and Narcissism.
I'm still convinced that most Liberals go to their meaningless little protests because "It's gonna be just like the Civl Rights Movement just like my teachers told me!".
It's not the straight up bastards you have to look out for in this world. It's the asshole with a Savior Complex who you have to look out for. That C.S. Lewis quote sums it up pretty well.

I'd give you a "Mad at the Internet" rating, but I kind of agree. I'm surrounded by planned communities chock full of Boomers living in fancy houses with giant RVs parked in their well appointed lawns, and I wonder what's going to happen to all that housing once the Boomers die off. The Boomers certainly aren't going to leave them to their children (they'll have taken "reverse mortgages" to spend the house equity on luxury cruises or they'll sell the houses so they can die in $20,000-a-month Club Med nursing homes. ) I guess the banks will take those houses and plow them under. Then use the land to build concrete apartment blocks for all of the immigrants the Boomers imported to do all their well-appointed lawnwork.

Both the boomers and newer generations are fighting over the same affordable housing.

The younger people think the McMansions are wasteful, gaudy and too much maintenance while the Boomers are too old/poor to live in them anymore.

They literally can't sell their houses unless they live in a hot booming place like an oil town.

Mad daddy cut off your allowance, huh?

The Boomers had good Unions and an economy where you could walk into a place and say "give me a job". Unfortunately, they burned the bridge behind them.

It also overlooks that this stat is usually measuring only the raw dollars, but not the benefits. Studies have demonstrated that when you factor in things like health insurance and other perks, wages HAVE risen. But it's all going to the bonus goods and not dollars in pocket.

Health insurance... paid time off... you know... all those things democrats keep saying should be mandated?

Hmmm....

DEMOCRATS:
OFFERING YOU SOLUTIONS TO OUR PREVIOUS SOLUTIONS.

"Studies have shown" is a classic phrase that when you see someone say it, you can immediately disregard the rest as bullshit. These studies don't point out the massive inflation that eats into any health care "benefits". And paid time off? Get the fuck out of here. Outside of white collar jobs no one is getting that. This graph is all you need to see.

Mad daddy cut off your allowance, huh?

My parents are early Gen X, not boomers. Lol just lol if you think boomers didn't have it incredibly easy compared to the next generations. They squandered their wealth and fucked up the country.

"We could accomplish neither jack nor shit for 8 years so Orange Man Bad."

Ben regardless of what you might think, this kind of statement doesn't make you look intelligent.

I've mentioned this multiple times before, but it bares repeating:

1. Obama, like Trump, was a black swan event. The plan ALWAYS was a Clinton Restoration via Hillary.

2. Obama winning shocked everyone but Hillary and her ilk went along with it, believing Obama would crash and burn and get bounced after one term. At which point, Hillary would ride to the rescue and everything happening as planned, just a decade later.

3. But then Obama got re-elected. And got some (granted half-measured) health care reform AND had gay marriage legalized on his watch. And suddenly conventional wisdom on the left (but especially the lunatic left) went out the window.

4. 2012 also brought into existence the now discredited "Changing Demographics" meme that 2012 was the "white man's last stand" and that the GOP would have no fucking choice but go full globalist cuck and be 100% for illegals flooding the nation, minorities, trans, and feminists getting special status as "superior people" for whom normal laws and social norms don't apply and can't be punished for their shit in order to be elected.

4. Obama's re-election and said demographic shift meme caused the lunatic left to accelerate their plans for globalist flavored fascism, thinking the masses were "ready" for acceleration. Obama would get credit for a lot of stuff, but the really fascist shit would go into effect once Hillary got elected. Because A. They wanted to "protect Obama's legacy" by not having him be the one to push the button making the nation go full commie fascist and B. Hillary was a sick fuck, who had a long as fuck enemies list and contempt for humanity, that she kind of wanted to be the one to press the button turning America into a commie dictatorship, where she was Queen.

5. Gamergate then happened, which threw a wrench into the acceleration plans. The lunatic left truly thought that the masses who would oppose them, would be oblivous until it was too late to stop them. But Gamergate woke everyone up just in time, leading to a mass red pilling and fracturing of the left and the lunatic left showing their true evil face.

6. By this point, the lunatic left was all in and couldn't do a tactical retreat because too much ground (IE trans right, black supremacy, legalized misandry directed at men by feminazis) would have to be lost to save their hides and gains (gay marriage, Obamacare, etc.

7. Trump came along. Another black swan and one that was an existential crisis for the lunatic left BECAUSE he was the embodiment of the masses rejecting the lunatic left (and the DNC, Obama, the Clintons) bullshit. This plus 5-6, created a situation where the lunatic left full tilt went insane because they couldn't concede and just kept doubling, tripling, quadrupling, down on their bullshit because they couldn't fucking own up to the nightmare they created.
I'd scrap 5 and 6 all together. You have to look at how the Trans Pacific Partnership would have fucked over blue collar workers in the rust belt. The Democratic Party didn't realize until it was too late that factory workers wouldn't vote their jobs away because some union boss told them to.

Also you have to look at how Hillary and the DNC handled the election. They didn't think twice about screwing over Bernie Sanders. Say what you want to about him, he could sell out any venue he wanted while the media had to photoshop the crowds at Hillary's events to make them seem larger. And if she did sell out a venue, it was because Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen were giving away free concerts. But getting back on point, Bernie getting screwed royally pissed off a lot of his supporters. A lot of them voted green purely to spite the party.

Plus I'm not even getting into the leaked emails and the infamous baskets of deplorables. There are a lot of reasons why Hillary lost and Trump won. But I wouldn't say that feminists raking in Patreon cash while pretending they're in the middle of an internet holocaust is one of them.

Just like I described on the previous page on how Donald Trump often manipulates the media for his benefit, here's another example.

Step 1: Trump tweets something with a unimportant spelling or grammatical error or says something erroneous, but inconsequential.
Step 2: Media eagerly reports on it in order to point out how stupid he is.
Step 3: Non TDS affected people see it but don't care about the error and get exposed to something positive for the President the media would have otherwise buried.

Wash, rinse, repeat. Thanks for admitting the Obama administration never got within a country mile of peace talks! And Trump has done it, what, three times now?

So smart they're stupid.

So it's bad to ask for a meeting with foreign adversaries? That makes Obama look bad which I don't think Ben Rhodes is trying to do.

The beauty of Trump's trolling is that they are never trying to make themselves look bad, and yet here we are.

You don't get paid time off? That blows, even Wal-Mart gives that.

We didn't fail to arrange a meeting, the fact is we never even TRIED! Therefore, this claim we failed somehow clearly cannot hold up to our opponents claims of 8 years of ineffectiveness on our part!"

Haven't looked too much into what happened yesterday shitfest, but a quick search brings up this journalist getting beaten. Why? Don't know. Maybe because they thought he was a trump supporter?

There's a lot going on so I watched it a couple times to try and get a basic run down for people to see. I didn't even notice rundown to hit him again the first few times I watched, just saw the guy step in between.

Video starts with someone punching him a few times before running away, starts getting egged, sprayed with silly string, two people then run up and looks like one tries to hit him and another kick him (I think one might be the same person from start of video, but hard to tell due to so many being dressed similarly) but luckily a dude stepped in to try and stop them from hitting him, and then as he walks out from the group some more people throw milkshakes at him

Him during the ER.

Also Antifa is throwing milkshakes with cement in them. So there's that.

Quick-drying cement, no less, which can cause fairly severe chemical burns. The astonishing part is the overwhelming volume of reporters and left-leaning outlets and personalities who are noisily defending Antifa even after this occurrence.

I love the irony of Antifa singling out a gay, minority journalist out of the crowd just to beat the crap out of him, though. How progressive.
