Like, no joke, they focus on the stupidest things - like the singular trees, and then proclaim the game to be ugly, meanwhile ignoring all the beautiful battle animations and settings that we've seen.
What battle animations lmao
The fucking wii colisseum game has better animations and that game was made a long time ago

That and people have been ripping the game apart for far more than just the infamous N64 tree. There's things like a brick wall that's not properly set to the ground and is just floating in midair, a Dynamaxed Steelix just popping in out of thin air, and NPCs still moving around like fucking robots.

And before anyone even attempts to pull the "The games aren't finished yet" card they come out in 5 months, that's not even nearly enough time to fix that amount of graphical hiccups.

I dunno. A lot could be done in 5 months. Especially since they're aware of all the backlash the game's getting currently.

.

Switch hasn't turned around shit, it's doing better than the wii-u but it's nowhere near close to how Nintendo was at it's peak.

You sure about that? In just over 2 years, it’s beaten the N64’s lifetime sales. Who knows how much it’ll sell by the end of its lifespan?

First, you're thinking Battle Revolution, that's on the Wii.

Second,
Oh let's see, I dunno, maybe the actual attacks themselves?
812055
812056

812057

You think stuff like that doesn't require work or animation? This stuff also counts for animations dood.

In addition, I'm sick of people bringing up the games that are SPECIFICALLY just for battling. Like, no duh the battle system will look better since the games were designed to be focused more on just the battle aspect without adding a story to it.

Brick wall? Honestly haven't seen that complaint.

The Dynamax Steelix I know about

And the NPCs still moving... The only one I can remember is the one guy from the demo gym, were there others?

Also, graphical hiccups like that CAN be fixed in 5 months - Like for the Tree, all it takes is a texture replacement.

Kinda surprised you didn't bring up "The bike is cutting through the ground".

Forgive me if this hasn't been covered, but why doesn't Game Freak just rollout more Pokemon as free DLC? Outside of signature moves there would be minimal animation work, just making or importing models. Why does there need to be a yearly release? It isn't a sports series, fans remember collecting them all and the games that leave a really solid impression, not "Pokemon '99", "Pokemon '03" etc.

I don't know, this direction just doesn't make sense to me.

They've been doing that since Pokemon Crystal I think - but it's mostly with legendary pokemon.

Yeah I've got this complaint too. I know Pokemon is stupidly popular but to my knowledge nobody demanded new main games every year (though that might be because the spinoff games helped to pacify the thirst) until they started doing things for gen 6 and GO. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees the yearly releases like the sports games, either!

Well, I am pretty sure that is actually what they did last time around, release the national dex for Sun and Moon as part of a so-called Pokemon bank update.

I wonder how much of GF’s decisions are due to incompetence or due to burn out. They have been working on this series for over twenty years now. I know this sounds like a crazy conspiracy theory but perhaps they are trying to intentionally tank the series with SwSh so they can move on to other projects? I am definitely not trying to defend GF, it is just something that has been on my mind since the whole national dex shit storm.

I do, but sometimes when I smell some BS, I'll turn it off to confirm my suspicion.
If you want a totally adfree experience I use uBlock Origin, and I've never had problems with ads popping up where they shouldn't be. The only time it stopped working was because of a recent FIrefox update that disabled addons (which has been fixed).

Thx.

Nobody thinks that, Nintendo is only known for Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon they're not known for tits at all.

Maybe you'll get one new game every 15 years like Metroid but it's effectively dead.
I was kidding you silly billy, I said it because Sony is on a censor spree.

Pokemon is one of the biggest franchises in the world it's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Yeah, sometimes i think GF is fed up with Pokemon, especially since they started making a new main game once per year

Well, here's a good question for everyone then.

Who do you think would be a good development team for Pokemon?

Edit: Also... Figured this be relevant:

Never say never, if star wars can be killed so can pokemon.

Like yeah they're still making star wars movies, but nobody in the core audience is really hyped to see it.

Honestly all the leaps that series like Monster Hunter and God of War have done to improve their core gameplay aspects, pokemon should have taken awhile ago. Like if they want to shy away from battle now they should at least improve the exploration aspects. Dragon Quest began in the same perspective as pokmon but look at Dragon Quest 11 compared to Pokemon Sword and Shield. Dragon Quest 11 has massive towns and explorable areas with monsters being visible in the world itself. Pokemon could at the very least manage to have the in game perspective and scale of Dragon Quest 11.
