Oh wow. We've reached peak levels of pathetic:

A Twitter artist drew an extremely racist depiction of a Black ‘Pokemon Sword’ character

"good old fashioned public shaming"
It's ok when we do it, but when we get called out on our bullshit, it's harassment coming from those bigoted trolls.

The author in question of this phenomenal article:

I stumbled down a twitter hole and found this the other day. I couldn’t stop laughing for a good 10 minutes. Not just at the art but at the pathetic responses he got from SJWs. That guy stirred up a hornets nest and he doesn’t give a fuck because his fans don’t care what the mora brigade says.

The funny thing about this nessa shit is they got offended at the lighter tones but were completely ok with turning her into a black chick with extremely dark skin when that’s not her design either.

Yes it will stay a billion dollar franchise but all you'll get is phone games.
Pretty much this. That conference last month told us everything we needed to know. Go gave them a taste of that overly sweet short term mobile pie and they've since decided to devour the whole thing. In fact it could be argued the main series will only be dragged along now out of sheer obligation from the main Pokemon company (and Nintendo to an extent) since every new gen is saddled with a bunch of other tied-in shit like the anime and card game.

It's already evident how much GF just doesn't have their hearts in the main series anymore and would rather do other things like that Town game (which btw, already looks strikingly higher quality than SWSH from the few snippets we've seen of it alone).

Forgive me if this hasn't been covered, but why doesn't Game Freak just rollout more Pokemon as free DLC? Outside of signature moves there would be minimal animation work, just making or importing models. Why does there need to be a yearly release? It isn't a sports series, fans remember collecting them all and the games that leave a really solid impression, not "Pokemon '99", "Pokemon '03" etc.

I don't know, this direction just doesn't make sense to me.
Not very likely since the data for the missing Pokemon are supposedly not present in the game. The closest thing Game Freak's done to DLC is Event Pokemon (as @Coelacanth mentioned earlier) and event items but all of the basic information to make them is in the game cart itself, all Game freak has to do is generate a Wonder Card and send it to the people distributing it. When it comes to getting DLC not present in the cart then you'd have to wait until the next pair of games.

That's in large part due to Game Freak putting their more experienced staff onto Town while the newer employees are working on Sword and Shield and it'll bite them in the ass sooner or later. If it's not biting them now thanks to the fervor on Twitter of course. One has to wonder what a Town boycott would do to GF...

Boycott? It'll likely just get completely ignored like all their other pet projects (nobody remembers HarmoKnight or Tempo the Badass Elephant), a boycott would just be unnecessary overkill. GF will never be able to shake off their image as "The guys that make Pokemon" no matter how hard they try.
You people are acting like Town is Starfield or something. It's not even Xenoblade or Ni no Kuni, it looks more like Ever Oasis to me.
We're not saying it is. The point being made is that it looks better than SWSH because they give more of a damn about the basic quality of some little game nobody's gonna remember compared to the biggest franchise in the fucking world. I get the argument of "why should they bother to give the main series their all when a mobile game that does a quarter of the work makes triple the cash", but it's still sad how they have no pride in their work anymore when it comes to Pokemon as we know it.

Town is effectively akin to Dark Cloud or Rune factory.

It has the potential to be a really big deal if it gets a sequel. Especially since it was shown with it's working title and not a finalized one, usually that's an indicator that the game is still in the early stages. It's still got a ton of stuff to finalized and finish but already it looks better than the pokemon games.

I really like Xenoblade but Mario and Zelda are both great, far better than their immediate predecessors and stuff like Mario Kart, Splatoon 2 (when online was free,) and Smash Bros. are also well put together games.

Neither is Xenoblade but that's probably the only well put together game that the switch has. Both Mario and Zelda have fairly significant design flaws that their predecessors did not have, and both are very tedious to 100% which is a first in both of the series.

Smash, Dragon Quest XI, and Bayonetta say hi.

I just said that both Switch Mario and Zelda games suffer from pretty glaring flaws compared to their previous versions.

Dragon Quest 11 is a port, Bayonetta 3 is MIA

and smash brothers is fucking cancer

Breath of the wild had nothing outside of the main quest, the fucking different armor sets were all pathetic and had nothing interesting surrounding them be they quests, abilities, or anything else. You were just better off equipping the hylean guard armor and just going to endgame just with that. The Dungeons could all be cleared in an hour, the shrines were just average and 70% of the fucking game were fucking Korok seeds. The only major world secrets were the two special horses and the Hyrule Shield.

I say this as someone who 100%ed the game and even went as far as getting all the horse armor and completed photo album as well. Honestly I'd sooner 100% Skyrim again for the 4 or 5th time.

That's getting real mixed reactions.

The cutscenes look below subpar and the gameplay apparently had normie mobile game mechanics added to it. Not really the best idea since Divinity Original Sin 2 and other CRPGs have made their ways onto consoles and those have brought new life to the strategy genre.

Honestly, you always come off as some hardcore Sony fanboy.
