Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

I think their are still gun-shy on giving new evolutions to old Pokemon after Gen 4. Eevee being the exception and that's it's gimick and even then there had only been one and it was with the introduction of a new type.

It's been long enough it's possible, but their modus operandi has been to minimize new Pokemon and try to do new things with old ones like Megas or Regional forms. I'd buy Armored Dunsparse before I'd believe an evolution.
 
I have decided that I will get a phsyical copy of every Pokemon game for the hell of it. I already have a good amount. I already colect handheld games so why not.
My favorite Pokemon is Shellos, the pink slug. I think it`s cute. My favorite Pokemon games are either X&Y or Gen 5.
I really want Sword&Shield to have pokemon based on Celtic or Welsh myths and legends. Because those are dope as hell.
 
Got a second-hand, non-bootleg copy of Soul Silver for my birthday. It came in the original box, but without the pokewalker (not that I mind). Can't wait to play it properly. I played it for about 20 minutes just to check it was legit.

The original owner's save file was still on there. Made things feel like the beginning of a creepypasta.

I would recommend transferring anything of value before starting a new game, or was nothing decent left because the previous owner also transferred everything to Gen V onwards?

I had a quick look at his profile. He'd played for quite a while, but only had 25 Pokemon in his Pokedex. None of them were anything special (or anything I didn't have already) and he had no useful items.
 
Back when I was but a hatchling I got gold from gamestop. It was used but I was happy! Got home and the Ho-Oh was named FuckYou. Me being a dumb Austin power watching kid thought it meant Fook Yu and that's how I tried to pronounce it for a few months. My slightly older relative was like IDO NO and told me, changed the name to Firefly.

That's the only interesting story I have for used games.
 
Tomorrow's the big day. I joked with my friend that they're going to start by announcing that there will be no new cross-gen evos, megas, or regional forms, then introducing something completely inane and stupid to replace it like Smelly Pokemon that come with scratch and sniff stickers.

-it looks like raids, go to wild area with 3 friends and battle
-dynamaxing is a gimmick now, pokemon gets big in battle, that's it. It's raid boss size
-your rival Hop is related to the chmpion- interesting
-professor is an old women, not a hot piece of ass like Oak...
-Legendaries are armored furries

Damnit, I'm only just watching I thought it was later.

Thoughts on Direct:

  • Pokemon walking around in the open world. Big Breathe of the Wild open areas between cities filled with pokemon called the Open Area.
  • Some sort of weird giant summon where your pokeball becomes a huge digital version and you throw it with two hands to have a giant two story glowing version. Also seems to be wild Pokemongo Raid battles with these pokemon, that can be caught. Called Dynamax(ing).
    • Mega Evolution that last three turns essentially.
    • Max Raid Battles - can connect with four players in the open area and face a pokemon in permanent Dynamax state, only one player can Dynamax their pokemon in the fight. Local and online playing.
  • Rotom = AI at this point, Stadium Gym battles have a Rotom Drone filming the fight
  • New Pokemon
    • Wooloo, Sheep for the Galar-Scots to fuck.
    • Gossifleur, Grass type evolves into Eldegoss, with a big dandelion afro
    • Drednaw, looks like a no evolution turtle
    • Corviknight, now we know where Corvus Corax went to in the Warp, also is the flying method in the game.
  • Grookie holds a stick as a weapon, might give some hint to it's evolution. Maybe fully into a staff for a Journey to the East reference. (Groookie=Goku)
  • Legendaries are as expected, Sword and Shield dogs, Shield one has a shield like mane around face, dog one hold sword in it's mouth. Zacian(sword) and Zamazenta(Shield).
 
Can't say I'm surprised that it was completely underwhelming. The new Pokemon all look good at least, except those fucking furbait legendaries.

Stop making up once per battle gimmicks GF, they keep getting progressively worse.

The "open world" areas look painfully lifeless, like an unfinished MMO starting area.

I will say the animations on the people looks pretty alright, though the character design is all over the place. The champion has like 86 different colors on him.
 
I like the over world pokemon catching but the gimmick has me so uninterested idk. I like pokemon go, but in game pokemon should not just get to randomly become huge for a battle.
