I thought the most hilarious escalation possible from the current batch of lolsuits would be Rackets suing someone for defamation over the GFM, but Waid pursuing a malpractice lawsuit would be even better.

Can't know for sure without the documents, but Zack was the one who filed the previous extension pending discovery on the jurisdictional issue. I'm guessing discovery (on the issue of jurisdiction) is complete and Zack needs a little more time to get the evidence sorted before he files his response to Waid's motion to dismiss.

I know what I'll be doing on payday. Ordering Jawbreakers. It supports Ya Boi and I get a damn fine read out of it from what I've heard from Just Some Guy's review. I can aways kick another sawbuck towards ensuring that Waid gets the fuck sued out of him whenever the fundraiser starts.
 
I'm not buying the Weber Shandwick thing at all. Or at least not Renfamous being paid by anyone. Why would you hire a mentally ill notorious homophobe to act like a certifiable lunatic while purporting to support your client?

You'd hire someone who isn't a known quantity and who actually acts somewhat professional. Even SJW Spiderman is more likely to actually be some paid guy, although I think that guy is probably a known comics pro of some sort with better opsec than most of these speds.
 
Rackets Update:

Meyer's response to Waid's request for dismissal now has a deadline of April 12 and Waid's reply is due on the 22nd.
We might get info on what happened in the depositions in the replies. Meyer, Waid, and the Antartic Press folks were mostly likely deposed.

It seems it's just a two week thing because Waid's local counsel has a trial date set in the general time period. In other words, no big deal, no big delay. This would mean she's doing most of the actual work while Zaid gads about losing cases in Iraq.

Weber Shandwick has a program called Firebell for teaching companies how to react to PR disasters on the internet. Allegedly it includes dirty tricks like hiring paid shills to spin a counter-narrative on social media. Prominent anti-CGer Kwanza Osajyefo has a director-level position at Weber Shandwick and it's been alleged that he and possibly other constantly-tweeting antis like Renfamous are using Firebell tactics on behalf of Marvel, though nothing has been proven.
