How the fuck do you beat Zero Suit Samus with The Boss’ spirit? I’ve tried like 8 times and I’m still getting my ass kicked.
You can cheese it by inhaling her as Kirby and shooting her under the stage. It's a bit tricky, but she's easy to edge guard.

I finally unlocked all the characters! Mega Man gave me the hardest time in part of the stage you fight him on. My first unlock was Sonic and my last one was Mewtwo!

The grind was well worth it.

The AI in this game actually seems to try predicting you rather than just having a 2-frame reaction time. I say this because it actually will also make wrong predictions, like dodge prematurely if you fake them out.

A good way to beat the AI, and also real players, is trying to get them to do something unsafe by faking them out. If you're juggling them, try to approach in a way where you can wait to see what they do, and that you can still hit them if whether they dodge or do nothing.
Yeah I noticed that too, how even level 9 CPUs will sometimes make the wrong prediction if you fuck around with them and I thought it was really cool.

I’ve been playing WoL solely as Kirby. I used Chun Li’s enhanced spirit with a Up B boost. I think I beat her by using mainly A attacks with a couple Up B’s mixed in, then lured her down to the bottom of the stage and Up B-ed her as the finisher. Blasted her down a couple seconds before I would have died.

Beating Ryu’s area as Kirby was tough, let me tell you.

More supreme cringe from John and his bootlickers.

Fucking Christ, she really has to make an issue out of everything.

Where does Wii Fit Trainer sot on the tier list, btw? Just to make sure Wu’s even more full of it.
She's actually considered one of the worst characters in 4. It's likely to remain that way in 5 because they kept her mostly as is. Half of her moves are really awkward to land and she doesn't really have much going for her besides that her neutral B is like Samus's but it can heal you a bit.

Played some of 4, would have to agree. Over half of her moves are weird yet easy to dodge because they are stiffly animated and easily telegraphed.

I actually like using WFT because of how fucking weird she is. She's good at chipping away at opponents and forcing people to approach while healing herself and her killing power is honestly quite good but her attacks are awkward as fuck to land.

Managed to snag a Legendary Spirit from the Spirit Board thing, so proud of myself.

Honestly, I love Wii Fit Trainer because I have a thing for weird, goofy, out-of-place characters in fighting games.

This game has been out for a few days yet most people seem to agree that Wii Fit Trainer isn't anything special yet Brianna claims she's OP. That figures. I imagine he bases that on the fact that he can kill Frank easily with WFT because Frank's old and doesn't really play games. If you wanted to look at OP characters you should be checking out Sonic or Bayo or Cloud or something.

You've already overthought it: John has not played more than fifteen minutes total among all Smash titles and is just spewing bullshit because he can fap to WFT.

Probably but then there's way hotter women in Ultimate. I'm actually a bit surprised Bribri wouldn't immediately go for Bayo or whatever, she's an icon amongst sex-positive feminists I think.

Another Universe inclusion update: It has been confirmed that Giftpia, And-Kensaku, Boxboy, Marvelous: Mouhitotsu no Takarajima, Make 10: A Journey of Numbers, and Tank Troopers are represented in Smash 4 as universes. Assuming the earlier leaked music list is correct, the final universe count currently stands at such:

- There 42 primary universes counting those from past games and introduced in this one (barring Subspace and Special Stages) that are represented and this number could grow with the addition of more DLC
- There are, assuming the Datamined music list is correct as all music has yet to be identified, 36 universes represented that are or used to be secondary universes (some of them are no longer secondary universes), with only GoldenEye and Perfect Dark missing representation
- All Namco based music from Smash 4 has returned, along with Namco Roulette, which is back as Pac Man's taunt and with its return comes all universes it represented including Xevious, Dig Dug, and the minor Namco Universes (now with the new additions of Katamari Damacy and Tekken), bringing Namco's Minor Universe representation (discounting for Xevious and Dig Dug for being former secondary universes and thus counted above) to 21, leaving only the "Tales of" series unrepresented as of now due to Lloyd Irving not returning as a Mii Costume and no other representation confirmed as of yet
- As for the minor universes, the only missing universes from previous games (assuming the data mined music list is correct) are bit Generations, BIT.TRIP, Doshin the Giant, English Training, Flower Town, Thru, and Warrior's Way. That brings the minor universe count to 87, as of this post.

This brings total universe/series representation in Ultimate to a whopping 186 confirmed universes, and this number may very well continue to grow.

Is anyone else having trouble with short hopping using the Switch controllers? Every time I hit the jump button, I feel like I'm only able to get it like half of the time.

I do have two complaints... loading times and input lag (especially on shields) are a little longer than I would like them to be. Especially reloading WoL battles if you lose them. They are only going to be a minute or two long, even if you win, having ten seconds to load the stage (and even more if you change stuff up) results in a wait/play ratio that is just too high for a single player part of the game.

So far, everyone is considered viable by the top players of Smash 4, and those guys are followed by tons of crazy number crunchers who find the tech and quirks that make top-tiers top-tier.

So in a game where everyone has good things about them, the first thing people are going to do is look for characters with great things about them. In that category, Wii-Fit Trainer couldn't be farther from that quota than most others.

So, no, you won't be finding Wii-Fit anywhere near Top-Tier, much less "OP".

Speaking of, how busted is Bayonetta in this? I’m going to play her regardless because her games are probably top 5 ever for me, but I’d be amazed if they didn’t tone her down. Might try Ken or Ryu too just because my understanding is that they have actual FG inputs, which might give me an edge over the autists and 12-year-olds that are inevitably going to infest the game.
