He is....really creepily obsessed with this ideal of "REAL women" and acts like the cringiest creep imaginable when interacting with them, which is contrasted with the utter tard rage shown when he encounters women who dont agree with him and are insufficiently grateful for his heroism in their name during the gamergate wars (no joke, screeching about how he bravely fought gamergate on twitter is his go-to tantrum when people point out he is being a bigoted chauvinist scumbag). Basically take early era CWC ideas on how women are innately purer sweeter and nicer (and in need of his protection) with the cliche'd NiceGuy routine, and combine with some neo nazi "WE MUST SECURE THE EXISTANCE AND PURITY OF OUR WAMMEN!" dogma.

Ben Elton actually ended up getting cannibalised by the left for having the gall to work with Andrew Lloyd Weber who (shock! horror!) was a member of the British conservative party.

I can sort of see the sell-out angle to that criticism as he always tried to paint himself as an anti-Thatcher anti-establishment kind of guy back when socialism was the counter-culture thing the kids were down with, but he rightly said that working for the BBC his whole life didn't really make the anti-establishment thing entirely convincing in the first place.

Dude's still a twat though.

Graham Linehan is the most depressing casualty of Twitter. Father Ted and the IT Crowd, as well as Black Books (some of which he wrote), are among my favourite series. I've had them on repeat through the night and to hear him come out with this bigoted bullshit is so dismal. (Unlike some here, I see transgenderism/transexualism as an inevitable and welcome part of our increasing control over our bodies, but the rest of his prejudice stands anyway).

Thank goodness Arthur Mathews, co-creator and co-writer of Father Ted, co-writer of Black Books, and more recently co-writer of the brilliant Toast of London doesn't seem to be on Twitter anymore.

Because Graham lives in a bizarro world where everything bad is the fault of one group he doesn’t like regardless of how unrelated those things are. If anything I’m just surprised he didn’t blame Gamergate.
 
Anyone else think this whole troon twitter conflagration is going to have to force him to backpeddle at some point on his attacks on Dankula and other free speech rightists? (I've noticed he's been very quiet on the Dankula front since he got visited by the fuzz). Maybe I'm just being hopeful. I don't actually hate Glinner, he's clearly addicted to twitter and the associated dopamine rush of going after a target (not that anyone here can talk) but I have too much respect for his past work to hate him. Plus on the whole Yaniv front he's doing the lord's work.

I think he'll get banned from Twitter. If he's smart it will be for something really innocuous that will make twitter look bad to normies, instead of something really spergy, although given his behavior odds are about even.

Probably not. He's very set in his ways - he still blames Gamergate for everything after all. Glinner's political views are the same as any middle class white woman who reads the Guardian i.e. white middle class women are the most oppressed on earth and should have everything handed to them and never be made uncomfortable by anything. The rules are always different for them because reasons, so he probably doesn't even see the irony of him moaning about being Twitter policed while supporting Dankula getting convicted.

He'll probably get done for deadnaming or something. Glinner has been a sperg since long before he became obsessed with fighting trannies but this is the only thing he's ever gotten suspended over. Twitter are really weird with their bans and you have to hit very specific buttons before they'll pull the plug, especially when you have a blue tick.
