The amount of faultfinding in V5 over at RPGNet is reaching critical levels. For example, this guy is an alt-right dogwhistle because he can only feed on the blood of journalists. Either that or the name sounds like 'Jordan Peterson'. I can't tell.

Apparently Critias wants the power to go into people's houses and tell the problematic types not to play his games. Geek hobbies and gay rights are at unprecedented levels of visibility and popularity. The left wing controls all of Silicon Valley and the majority of the major news outlets, and has enough clout to get people thrown out of their jobs for expressing problematic opinions. Despite all of this, he is still absolutely convinced that his side is losing.

Personally I've always found the idea Vampires where behind everything a little cringe. I always liked the Technocracies idea that the supernaturals were often reactive to humanity rather than pulling the strings. So I don't really approve of them implying historical wars is Ventrue and Lasombra playing 3d chess.

That said their reaction is absurd, that npc is particulary funny because he was thought up in 1993. Their crocodile tears about a war is particulary grating. Their's an interesting issue with White wolf is that during the early 90's the primary western culture was centre-right or at least way more right than it is now. This naturally means moral puritanism in the period would not really hit their target audience, now that contempory western middle class culture nudges left moral puritanism comes in from a completly differant place which white wolf cannot deal with in the same sense a layperson christian has no idea what do when arguing with a religious fanatic.

Probably because they are, the lefts monopoly on certain aspects of society is incredably superficial and in the grand scheme irrelivant. Theoretically the left has consensus on morality such as LGBT interests and white collar office culture. But in the end Conservative political groups still win a lot, rich immoral corporations still have way too much power they have consistantly shown they can't be trusted with, the global market has devastated the working classes by utualizing slave/serf labour abroad and the poor are still getting dicked hard.

Real fucking hard.

The left mistakes symbolic victories for actual ones and I'm saying this as a hard line socialist and spend a great deal of time thinking about this stuff or campaigning against it. By contrast the Holden shearers and the rest of the goatfucker mods of the world are losing sleep over fucking Gamergate and can't comprehend how vampire politics probably don't mesh very well with human concearns. If anything they probably make the situation worse by shutting down lines of communication between between left and right and having to waste time and resoarces on a retarded self-defeating issue like no platforming.

Tabletop is probably the least disposable interactive medium in existence. Unlike video games where a new game comes out, you play it for two months, then shelve it for the next hot thing many tabletop systems are still being played decades after publishing. Because of that the hobby is filled with grognards and their apprentices who do not tolerate gay shit like WW apologizing because homofags found vampire genocide triggering.

It also requires a wee bit more mental effort to set up, hence why they mostly stick with White Wolf's easy to pick up ST system and DnD/Pathfinder (though that's more for namebrand than anything else). Regardless, GG on the IP owner cucking out over stuff that'd be seen as passe in older editions.

I'll go along with that. They really need to take an attitude of "Hands off Vampire intervention in real historical events, because someone is going to be triggered. And not in a 'my flan is insufficiently firm' way. I mean in a 'I lost friends when the Towers went down, and fuck you for shielding the guilty' way."

Because guess what? Real tragedies have real victims, and you will always piss someone off for a throwaway line in your play pretend game.
 
I play Japanese TRPG - Sinobigami because I'm a huge weeb:oops:

To be honest, Sinobigami (and basically every game in the Saikoro Fiction series) is very easy to play and host. It usually takes 3-4 hours to finish one game.

I just read White Wolf's apologies and the comments section. I wonder if those balking at it would have the same response if An San Suchi's apparent 180 from Nobel Peace Prize winner to persecutor of Rohinja people-in-chief was caused by vampires. Or China's persecution of the Wiga. Maybe? I mean they are Muslim minorities in their countries.
 
I've been kind of off in my own little world with White Wolf stuff. I liked the old stuff, and I hated the new stuff. Then I liked the newer stuff, which was actually the old stuff.

So what the fuck is this newer-er-est stuff? Can someone summarize Vampire 5 in a short paragraph? Who owns it? What product line is it part of? What's wrong with it?
 
I liked NWoD Vampire okay. I preferred the original, but appreciated their effort to make vampire society more into something ground level and less a bunch of LARPing faggots pretending they're immortal philosopher-kings. In fact, I think OWoD actually once described the Brujah as philosopher-kings. Gaaaaaaaaaay. My beef with the NWoD stuff was that, as with most of those properties, they made no effort into making the new factions all that interesting in their drive to strip away all overarching metaplots.
