They're just desperate to find some excuse to say "TAKE THAT!" to gamergate. They know Adobe is still out of Gawker, but because they denounce gamergate the SJW's consider that a win.

The classic "enemy of our enemy is our friend" angle.

Ironically, they aren't endearing themselves to Adobe with this behavior.

yeah the anti-gg people have been trying to doxx GG people for a while to try and silence a lot of people.

Actually I think it's some guy posting under the ED banner. There's this doxxing group that's targetting GG members ( I think anti-gg too, not certain.)

I found this last night. IA did a chat with Thunderf00t and Justicar about atheism+ and its parallels with anti-gg.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=inqcLXNlEesThe tl;dw of it is that a lot of the same shit happened to atheism that is happening in gaming. The extreme "you're either with us or against us" attitude. The throwing around of accusations like "misogyny" that don't even make any sense. The media influence that gives certain people interviews and articles long after they've been discredited. But ultimately it fell apart, because their only skill was being a professional victim. That doesn't have a very long shelf life. The difference is that games are an industry, one that actually creates and sells products. They don't know how to actually build anything, which is kind of super important in the game industry.

I don't think we have much to worry about. If it goes anything like atheism, there will still be SJWs in the game industry, but they won't be taken seriously.

When Matt Dillahunty tried to prove that everyone was wrong about Atheism+ by posting reasonable dissent with an anonymous account and got a fist full of crazy it was just the best thing ever. He's still a tool, though. You can take the Christian out of the Fundamentalist, but you can't take the Fundamentalist out of the Christian, I guess.

Well, some quick research:
  • /v/ and Gamergate raised $22k for The Fine Young Capitalists
  • Gamergate has raised $16k for the Pacer Center
  • Gamergate has raised $6k for Extra Life
  • Gamergate has raised $5k for Suicide Prevention
That's $49,000 donated by thousands who are "just trying to prove they are good people"

The total number is actually closer to $70,000

Talk around the water cooler is the shadowy They are planning to make a push and attack archiving sites for "illegally republishing content". The basis of this claim should be considered, at best, farcical. They, however, have not let things such as logic or reasonability cloud their decisions.

Oh please Lord, no.

Fair use disagrees. You're allowed to use copyrighted material without the copyright owners permission for the sake of education and critical assessment. . So when people archive websites they're doing it for critical reasons and as such it is legal.

Getting a bit more specific - http://www.dmlp.org/legal-guide/fair-use - scroll down to the "Copyright as a Tool to Silence Criticism" section and there are a few civil cases which have been dismissed outright due to copyright holders attempting to DMCA people who were using that work for critical purposes.

And furthermore, because Gamergate is a fully leaderless consumer revolt, there is no one they can persue for archiving links should they decide to persue legal action. They would need to subpoena your ISP to prove you went to site X at time A, then went to archive site Y at time A+1, then while at archive site Y you submitted a request to archive site X at time A+2, then at time A+3 you viewed the archived site X from the archive on site Y. While possible, not very probable.

They could try and shutdown archive.today. What next, gonna try and make "Print Screen" illegal?

Recently a very nice review of Polygon's ethics statement was posted to the 'tubes.

Summary and recommendations (TL; DR)
Unfortunately, Polygon’s ethics policy is a disappointment. It falls short in arguably the two most important areas — conduct and conflicts of interest.
  • Conduct —Polygon should specify their journalistic practices in this section instead of monetary policies. Disclosures of Kickstarter support should be mandatory.
  • Conflict — Polygon should disallow their staff to continuously support subjects financially. Explicitly, Patreon support of creators in the video game industry should not be accepted.
  • Sources —Polygon should expand this section by specifying their journalistic relationships with sources. Most of all in the context of sources as ‘co-creators’ of content.
  • Advertising — Polygon should pursue advertising out of its core subject area. That way real and perceived conflicts of interest could be avoided.
  • Statement gaps — Polygon should describe their journalistic conduct and embrace balanced reporting. They should facilitate discussions and appreciate conflicting views.
Now before you think this is just some schmuck talking shit...

Disclosures and disclaimer: I am a former professional auditor with expertise in areas of financial statements as well as corporate and government compliance. I am not a journalist or an expert in journalistic integrity — please feel free to provide guidance in case that is an area of expertise for you.

Bolding mine. Of course, this takedown comes just as a little bit of information has come to light.

For those who don't know this is the man who runs the FemFreq twitter account and writes all of Anita's materials for speeches and videos. Poor lil' damsel.

So now Gamergate's successfully dug up a conflict-of-interest at one of those who explicitly covered the Anti-Gamergate angle.

Color me surprised. No wonder they're fucking terrified of us, they know we're going to rummage through their laundry!

I'm not autistic enough to understand wikipedo moonspeak that well.

Could somebody super-autistic explain the significance of that?

as I understand it, highlighted are efforts to add a source showing evidence, the ones right afterwards being an editor with an agenda reverting the changes and accusing highlighted of vandalism.

The favourite thing I have so far out of this whole thing is the real initial definition of a Gamergate.
It's a reproductively-capable worker ant capable of breeding with the males in a colony without a queen.
The part of me that's a dick wants to involve this somehow into the whole mess but I don't know how, which I guess is for the best.

There's already a Twitter bot spamming the hashtag with ant facts.
