I got curious how the new God of War plays. And after playing just a few hours I've got a completely new perspective on his playthrough of God of "Throw axes at every enemy for 5 hours". Sure, there are a few difficulty spikes where savety-throwing makes sense, but after that you should learn the battle system, use a lot of techniques and make use of BOY, learn when to dooodge, learn when to blaaahk, upgrade your arsenal and moves. It can get hectically but after learning how to play like a pro fighting game player with good reflexes, it's quite easy. There's no reason to keep throwing the axe!
How long does he need to fight those orks (?) with their giant elemental stones? 5 minutes? 10 minutes? 15? Dave couldn't fight them in close combat because
they attack when he's close to them. And this hurts little Kratos and kills him. Holy shit, then just attack when there is an opportunity, dodge and block, these monsters go down in around a minute.
But what really astonished me was his way of solving this one "riddle" where you had to freeze the mechanism of a bridge (maybe you 'member). Which was the exact same "riddle" he got introduced to at least 3 times beforehand! The game explained it multiple times, you need maybe 4 seconds to go past through that and he needs minutes over minutes and the help of his chat. What the fuck! This guy is a lifelong CASUAL gamer, at best.
(No I don't know the solution to the non-riddle through his TIHYDP, it was just massively obvious).
I noticed the transparent title card was still there during the earlier stream (I wasn't paying attention to the salty second stream). Curiously, while still transparent, the webcam was no longer visible. My theory is that someone told him it was visible in the morning, and then by the evening, he found out about the video and was pissy as a result
The transparent background isn't even a bad idea, non-trolling-wise. You can slightly see the PS4 which is part of his streams and this makes the title card look more complex in the process. However the clinched text is still atrocious.
Also, Phil completely robbed me! I can't watch any Spider Man related detractor khantent without receiving spoilers. Hard life, man. Hard life.
