I mean, if it was actually a business loan of some kind, wouldn't a bank require some sort of documentation about the business and all that? Unless I'm mistaken, Phil didn't register as a business in CT, and he only did it in Washington halfway through 2017, well after he was talking about business loans.

I guess the simple answer is that he's really talking about some kind of personal loan (CC advances?) that he's just calling a business loan to sound like a Mature Intelligent Human Adult (TM), but the fact that he took out a loan for the business and then didn't actually upgrade anything for the business just comes off even worse, imo.

I never thought about this until now but, what did Phil say to the person who approved the loan regarding repayments? A loan application for a business which states the repayments will be made with bitch heres and ad revenue off of YouTube?

:stress:

Phil did open his "Burnell Productions" in November 30 2017, around the time he had his "It's not a business, and it never was" financial panic. Before that, he was operating "Burnell Prodcutions", which he opened July 1 2014, soon after he moved to Washington

Well, remember that the one that was "opened" 7/1/14 was done so retroactively to handle the back state business taxes. That's why it "closed" the same day the new one "opened".

@tripmix , that's basically what got me thinking about it. If it was a personal loan or, more likely, just running up credit card debt, the bar would be lower aside from the bank or CC company simply looking at whether they think you can pay it back or not (and what interest rate they're gonna charge to make their money). But an honest-to-god business loan? Who knows.

Edit: While looking up something, I came across a post on Phil's forum (from Phil) from Nov. 2016 on the day he announced he was considering going back to Twitch. Check this shit out and compare it to now

Yeah...he's got all his tips from last month ($3021), his Youtube from last month after it was remonetized (~$800-1600, most likely), his Patreon from August ($1004), his cheer + subs from...July coming up on the 15th (~$5000), and the tips he has received so far this month (~$600). So basically, he's got $4600 received already this month for sure, another $1000-1500 that I estimate he probably got from Youtube, and he has another $5k he knows is coming. Then add in that he was gifted Spiderman (effectively another $60), and he can fuck himself yet again.

Guaranteed he's trying to beg up money for that quarterly payment.

I don’t get that. He gets a majority of his income from Twitch anyway, so had he just played Octopath on stream and bit the bullet, he probably could have made up for the lost ad revenue and then some. It’s so pathetic that he won’t play certain games for the sheer fact that he knows that a) attendance will be low, or b) he won’t be able to double dip with YouTube.
You're absolutely correct, and in the case of some of these Nintendo games, it's unclear if he is so narrow minded that he doesn't see that because he tunnel-visions on the fact that he will lose the Youtube dollars, or if he is just so greedy that even if he knows it would balance out, he so strongly resents that he can't double dip that he refuses to consider it. Beyond all that, the Content Creator system has changed since he first looked into it, and he could still make money if he did that. He has been told this multiple times by his stream chat, but it doesn't fit his narrative so he has ignored it.

Wow. Really makes you wonder what would have happened without Tut's tips, let alone his forthcoming other donations. Phil would have been so short that those bill collectors would have emulsified his kneecaps. Hm. Emulsified pig legs sounds like something that would be on the menu at a fancy restaurant. Not that Phil has recently been to one of those, so I'm not sure why I even thought of that...

Edit: Okay, lemming something to it, but it's just my usual talk, just worded differently, so basically what Phil does with his daily talk and "entertainment". Can't change a verdict if the product stays the same.
Yes, Actually's find is just one of many statements which changed over time cuz of many raisins (nice autocorrect, I'll keep that).

The first one is of course Dave's inability to understand anything that moves differently from him. As he has them business degree and valedictorian speech. Twitch was always focused on user interactions, they just figured out they should embrace it even more and find a way to make more money. Is the current Twitch kinda disgusting in this regard? Absolutely. Is Current-Dave embracing this behavior to get a big load of their tard cum? Holy shit, you can bet.

Second, Phil still misunderstood people's behaviors and I would state he still does that. Most people aren't "shills" in respect to a game, they just don't constantly piss all over it, they try to enjoy it.
They give shoutouts to people who gave money, because they gave money. It's nobodies duty to "step up", a thx is a simple humble reaction to a humble gesture.

What impresses me the most of his transformation is how he adapted to a fairy tell, he adapted to his own narrative. Just for the reason of statistic I will accept there was/is a tiny bunch of people who do beg a lot BUT some of them are lolcows, they are the bottom of the barrel, they are not the regular Twitch streamer. He probably blew a regular "Jo thanks for the donation" outta proportion and projected it to the whole.
Now he jumped the mountain and represents his own mystical creature. Nobody begs for money like Phil, nobody does these prestreams to gather money and brainwash the audience, he is the very top money grabbing beggar (and probably conman) there ever was on Twitch. But as I said, now he only represents his own narrative but still not the regular streamer. He fulfilled his own prophecy of what a Twitch streamer apparently does.

But now that Phil does it, it's okay! Because otherwise he will lose the house, he can't pay the bills. Yes, and every other streamer has no bills to pay? Of course they do. BuUut you can insert any excuse here which dropped from his pig-like snout. For him the purpose always justifies the means. If he has to become what he always hated, then so be it (as he also kinda stated in this way on multiple occasions).

This is a man with principles loosely hanging on a strip of dried out sellotape, ready to fall in the bowl of "Whatever fits REEE today".

1) Phil talks about having gotten business loans as part of his allegedly massive debt he's trying to pay off via begging from teenagers and teenagers who are just barely young adults as well as idiots of all ages. My question, though, is how? I mean, if it was actually a business loan of some kind, wouldn't a bank require some sort of documentation about the business and all that? Unless I'm mistaken, Phil didn't register as a business in CT, and he only did it in Washington halfway through 2017, well after he was talking about business loans.

I am convinced that Phil's business loan is a personal loan leveraged against his business (read: personal) income from YouTube, Twitch and Patreon.

2) Phil's pissed and moaned about his low ad money on Youtube and all that, but I was wondering. I want to make clear that I am NOT advocating for doing this, but what would happen if there was a mass viewing of his videos (with adblockers) but done such that each video only got a tiny fraction of actual watch time. So like a 20 minute video would be "watched" for 30 seconds before moving on. Would the (presumable) massive drop in viewer engagement outweigh the increase in view count? I suspect this is a bit like trying to figure out Phil's take-home from adsense or his monthly expenses, but again, was just thinking about it.
This has been tested with other cows elsewhere. Viewer retention drastically decreases which is used in determining adsense payout from what is understood. Opening a video, immediately pausing it (or using noscript to block googlevideo) and disliking it results in a drastic reduction in retention and, if the video has a negative like:dislike ratio, stops it being recommended in the sidebar. This is speculated to reduce overall viewer counts and thus reduce overall income from the channel.

However, in the last 9 days, (on average) 82% of Phil's total views on DSPGaming have come from his archive of videos and this is when he's had success with the release of Spiderman and a couple of 3k+ view videos. His archive is too vast to have a meaningful impact on his bottom line by trying to skew retention metrics. If people wanted to skew his metrics the best way to do it would be on Day 1 releases, combining dislikes with instantly pausing and leaving the video. Does anyone know if CPM is reduced on older videos? If so he may not be making as much as people think on YouTube.

Let me know if I fucked up the math

I love that Phil can get an extra free no strings 5k and still find a way to live hand to mouth.

Phil will never be financially stable because hes the type of person who sees dollars in the bank and has to spend them. Then he needs to beg for more money to pay for the house because he needs new dollars for the new bill since he didnt save dollars last time he had them.

Its perpetual empty wallet, hes not the only person who lives like this but hes one of the funnier examples.

Still hilarious he cant/wont downsize to a bigger house in the midwest/south with less fucked mortgage costs.

The funny DSP line about fighting games is he hate games after they have been out longer than a month. He says this is because lag tatics, shitty net code... it whatever.

Phil is still very good at picking up a fighting game. He can master one combo with a character that can body new players. But as a game gets older, the proficiency of the talent pool increases. His very rudamentary tactics breakdown and no longer work.

This is why he is always reluctant to return to an old fighting game. He goes back to Tekken, he is fucking destroyed constantly. Too many characters and too old of a pool of opponents.

I feel like SFV is trying it's hardest to push the opposite thing into being true. With AE, there was an influx of new players, and with the frequent, boat-shaking patches, the lower levels of play are frequently thrown into disarray. Season 1, when everyone had every character because no DLC existed yet, most Super and Ultra Silver players were respectably good at the game. You certainly couldn't fly across the screen on your twentieth random shoryuken without getting a swift crush counter to the 'nads for being a dumbass. If you watch DragonPunchDave, neither he nor his opponent crush counter... At all. It's baffling. Some people punish a whiffed shoryu with a god damn JAB. And he's nearing Gold.

Phil's good at beating "your girlfriend" at fighting games. You know the type. Literally your girlfriend who never plays, has no interest in games and will never play asks to go a round, and most of what she does is standing in place throwing roundhouses and shit. If you have never had a girlfriend or aren't interested in humans, please substitute with "Your mom". Guys and girls who don't really play or understand fighting games. He can't even properly gauge what character is good for his playstyle. He'd get instantly better if he just picked up Guile, who has everything he needs to just sit there with his come at me pose at the ready. An invincible reversal for mashing when in trouble, that doubles as a meterless very painful antiair, a great anti-dash move, and fast, hard to punish projectiles for spamming.

He coasts by on many years of acquired knowledge, but seriously, if you want to see just how bad he is, snipe him, dash and grab. It'll work every time. On the scale of normal human 2D fighter goodness, DSP's a mild four passing for a six due to playing extremely flowcharty. When you fight DSP, you're barely fighting DSP. The real rival is DSP's "Stand at two paces and DRAGON PAHNCH that jump-in" system. For all his talk about "Reactionary" gameplay, he basically counts on his opponent to hand him what he needs to win.

And in serious news, relevant to the business:
View attachment 537330
Apparently the demonetization is spreading. He's probably getting all excited to use this an excuse to shit on and drop SFV, or demand 'interaction' if people want him to continue playing it.

Before I forget, Dave is a dumb fuck. Maximilian Dood was experiencing issues with a bunch of his older videos NOT because they’re SFV videos, but because of the music he used in older videos of his. Most weren’t even SFV. Apparently some company bought out rights to a fuckload of music, Max’s videos were at risk of being content IDed, not denied monetization. Which really makes a stronger case that YouTube might be keeping a better eye on Dave and are flagging things advertiser unfriendly.

I love when people who know fighting games do analysis on how he plays fighting games and how much of a fraud he is. Fighting games are pretty nuanced and it's hard for people who don't follow them regularly to truly see how scrubby DSP is and how his excuses are unfounded.

'Member when Phil thought you were a desperate, miserable moron if you gave HUNDREDS of dollars in chunks to someone making a lot of money just to get attention? Tut doesn't 'member :(

To the uninitiated Phil seems pretty good. He is a little above average but still a scrub.

Random demon flips (the true sign of a scrub)
Raw v trigger activation
Doesn't know that Blanka v trigger lets you combo blanka balls (actually it looks like he has never even seen blanka played before. Most people will play the new characters a bit to see what they can do and what to look out for) he assumed it was like SF2 blanka lol
Raw ex dp a mile away
opponent does three crouching lk and phil stands up after the second for some reason
doesn't understand that mashing jab is how you get out of some types of pressure
asks why he can't block while obviously walking forward
doesn't expect ex dp from sakura on wake up when he has a sliver of health left
complains about the game not having footsies (it does, but only certain characters are good at it)

Phil whining about flowcharts like the scrub he is
This shit annoys me. It reminds me of all the crying about Ken flowcharts in SF4.
If you fight a flowchart then you know exactly what he's doing and you can counter it easily.
Except if you're DSP and you rather use your same strategy and complain about how "It's all safe" instead of trying something else.

Of course not. He can't finance the 2 condos and 2 1 houses, duh.

The WA abode is a condo and listed as such. That makes the amount of money Phil shelled out for it even worse, imo. Bonus? It appears to be the middle unit of a 3 unit building. You might think that you'd aim for an actual house with, ya know, a yard and such as your 2nd residence, especially for a quarter million, but I guess not...

Motherfucker has a concrete strip as a 'backyard' disgusting.

If I'd paid what he did for a middle triplex unit without a yard like that I'd probably kill myself. Does it even have a garage?

He could have moved to anywhere in the midwest and had an actual adult house for half of what hes paying. In an actually nice neighborhood with a real yard and everything.

But noooooo, gotta love next to Seattle that he'll never visit. Dude doesn't even leave the house, let alone do anything worth living by a major city.

He'd have the same experience that he gets now living in Flint, Michigan.
