So is this the fallout from Chris’s interactions with Idea Guy? I’m really not connecting the dots for how Chris came to have such a drastic break from reality, it seems weird that this could happen gradually even for Chris or is there some catalyzing event that happened that I’m missing out on?

The intention of this site though is to passively watch. Direct interaction is discouraged. I don't follow the Schuller thread at all, but I'm assuming our members aren't participating in that exploitation.
So the only real contention here I see is how we are more outraged and wanting to interfere on behalf of Chris, whereas there is not as much of that for Schuller. Which is a very fair point. I'd guess it's because Chris is much more well known to the general userbase, as well as there being lingering feelings of guilt for arguably building the foundation for Chris to be exploited in this instance.
I just don't buy that observation and gossip perpetuates what others are doing, at least not to the extent to be held morally accountable. I think it's fair for us to be disturbed by these people's actions.

The dollar amount involved, the threats/extortion, and a couple of the more egregious videos will steamroll any nitpicking about Chris being willingly involved. At least to a normal, non-internet-sperg prosecutor.

Doxing is only frightening to people who actually have a life outside of the Internet. People who have a job (or are looking for one) or a family and for whom getting all of their shit associated with their real names would have dire consequences.

My guess is that they'd probably try to convince him that he ACTUALLY killed somebody, or hell, even brutally raped one of his characters.

And with the utter mental destruction that'd bring Chris, they'd finally drain him of all of his money, leaving him a penniless broken shell.

I agree, but if all three parties are developmentally delayed cloppers, an issue about sanity and knowing the difference between reality and fantasy will come up for everyone involved.

They gave Chris money to have contact with him. They used that contact to worsen Chris’s break from reality then convinced him they were doing things to alternate dimensions versions of his characters (like torturing them) to extort him. It’s not funny.

Now convincing Chris to run for President, that’s funny. This is just pathetic to watch and read.

Due to unknown reasons Chris does not have the 'filter' that most humans have, where our brains automatically cross-reference things we hear to determine their validity. If I tell you that people around you can hear your daydreams you know that's not true because your thoughts don't emit sound, Chris' brain cannot internally fact-check or reference statements he hears with what he knows to be untrue.

He has a very poor ability to distinguish between what is and isn't "realistic" because he cannot mentally compare real things vs unreal things. There are not any 'true' or 'false' boxes of information in his mind.

I know this is late as fuck, but Chris needs supported housing and no internet. He'll undoubtedly resist and it'll be a big upheaval for him, but the way he just unquestioningly believes everything these dicks say because it involves his imaginary characters? He's not capable of living alone. Someone of the age of 36 who not only believes their fictional computer game character is real, but will go out and do real world shit, repeatedly, because of it isn't safe to be left to their own devices.

It doesn't help that Chris believes he has millions of fans and people are queuing up to see him at Bronycon. He needs less bullshit in his life, not more. I know people here feel bad for him and want to send him stuff, but people have been sending Chris stuff for years (for whatever reasons), and it's only served to make him more deluded, more convinced that he has fans who'll do anything for him.

This whole shitshow needs to end. Null, you're doing a fucking amazing job stepping in where the state seemingly can't be bothered. I have no idea if you can arrange somewhere safe and with psychological support for Chris, but if you can do it, semper fi. And if the users of this board can help you somehow, there'll be plenty of us that will be happy to. Chris needs stability and a long dose of reality right now. He's been able to wander off into fiction to his detriment for too long.

After reading that chat log it's clear that he also needs a really good psychiatrist to get him back to some kind of baseline.

A>B is pretty reprehensible looking and even worse than Bluespike by a mile, but actionable? Possibly. It's a stretch, though. You could argue he was participating willingly at that point.

B>C, when they have incriminating videos and demand money for not releasing them to the public, is a no-brainer. That's textbook blackmail. Kevin Landau could prove this.
