So...these tweets from one of the Star vs Forces of Evil animators been making the rounds as the mewling hordes of shitty animators swarm to attack any who impugn the good name of Calart style shit

DdiVhJgVAAAhedy.jpg

So the first Tweet - no, I didn't like the promotional image, nor the brief animation I've seen, nor the whole BTS segment. I'm not going to be a sped and act like "UHHHH YOU RUINED MAH CHILDHOOD" because I've only a passing appreciation for the older show, but I will say that I'm not exactly sure who this show caters to other than either 5-year olds, and the creepy subset of 20-30 year old entitled losers who have spent their formative years jerking off to cartoons and who are mentally incapable of doing anything original.

Further, don't give me that "60+ people worked on this and you shouldn't be mean" bullshit. You entitled shit. I don't care if it was 60 or 6,000 people. The group's work is poor, uninspired, and does not inspire any interest in the show. They took a pre-existing fandom and interjected what they think is cool and paraded it out like it was some hot shit, not at all considering what maybe the installed fanbase would like. Your "60+ creators" have failed to do anything except cater to the lowest common denominator and appease your corporate overlords who don't give a fuck about anything except making money... and honestly I sincerely doubt this will do nothing but create more ire for Warner Brothers.

Second tweet. "I didn't like the original, so this is better, lulz." Go fuck right off, asswipe. Not everything in the world needs to cater to your own personal interests. For example, I have no interest whatsoever in Nicholas Sparks movies, Stephen Universe, or MLP, but that doesn't mean I think they should.

Nobody was acting like this. It was and is overwhelmingly "HOLY SHIT THIS LOOKS HILARIOUSLY TERRIBLE! WHY THE HELL IS CALART SHIT STILL BEING MADE?!" but the meme of evil neckbearded bigot manbabies screeching about "MUH RUINED CHILDHOOD!" has been obsessively presented as fact by media people since ghostbusters 2016 came out, since the people in media who create/fawn over this shit cant really string together any mature or coherent defence or retort to the critics and instead act like bitchy tweens about any mockery or critique.

Frankly the brony demographic already has MLP to fap over. There is no nostalgic audience for thundercats to any real degree since it was just random 80s cartoon no.2718. This is why that weird anime take on the series a few years back bombed despite high production values. Im guessing this is the usual execs wanting to sell to kids/soyboy creators wanting to impress tumblr target demographics.

Remember. These people are the most coddled "professionals" in media history. Merely receiving criticism from the public is seen as violent and hateful abuse, and thus the widespread jeering at this shitshow is seen by fellow industry snowflakes as something akin to mass lynching of all their friends and asspatters.

You forget. These people are 100% certain that their whims and personal preferences are objectively the only true and good ones, and anyone who has their own different preferences/ideas is an ignorant peasant who needs to be forcibly brought "into the light" or an evil nazi who needs to be banished.

Oh boy have we

I know the 2010s is essentially the rise of the nerd, but fuck, nobody fucking dresses like that anymore. This nerd shit really isn't too different from the weeaboos. They try to be something they're not because it's "the thing" of the now, but yet they only reflect the aspects Hollywood told them were nerdy.

In before he's revealed that he sexually harrassed his female coworkers.

That or he has a shit ton of CP.

Either way he's a good representation of male sjws who let their political standing seep into their creative works.

Wow, what a piece of SHIT. How the fuck did ANYONE think this was okay?
It's even funnier how hard the creators of it are hugboxing on Twitter.

Yes, just because a lot of people worked on it, that means it's perfect and immune to critique.

Gah, I fucking hate the Calarts-clique in the animation industry.

How can this show manage to look "more steven universe" than steven universe? I was genuinely confused at who this guy was until i discovered it's supposed to be cheetarah:

This creature has no breasts, wha the fuck? Why is cartoon network so desperate to make the next teen titans go, they can milk and spam TTG forever if they want, no need to destroy the legacy of classic cartoons dammit.

i could tell it was cheetarah from the long donkey ears
obvious trademark of the character

The original thundercats was a corporate by the numbers cartoon designed to sell toys to credulous children every Saturday morning. How the fuck can the art style from the 80s look better then this crap? What is wrong with these people?

It's a new generation of soy-loaded, Trump-triggered grown-up kids with a thing for modern era tumblr-ish aesthetics and an ego the size of Jupiter. 40 years from now, everyone will look down to their creations and discuss how they were an icon of the first half of the century, the same way we look at Hanna-Barbera cartoons now.

Oh, but not this abomination. TumblrCats is just one more empty can in a huge pile of garbage.
