Redwall was one of the first series I binged on as a kid and I'm scratching my head as to what would be considered racist about it. Some of the species speak in vernacular but I don't know if they have real-world correlates.

If it's just that the individual Redwall species have distinct, intrinsic essences then lol welcome to almost all of fantasy and sci-fi you fucking dork.

Yep they do, sometimes they refer to him as 45 and shit like that. Rarely do they say his name and it did start pretty much like you're saying there but there was more of a connection to Voldermort cause they are too young to have remembered Candyman or Beetlejuice.

This opinion came about because someone said Ghost of a Tale (a game with a warrior mouse like the Redwall series), looked good. It's the same old tired argument trotted out when people accuse Lord of the Rings as being racist because orcs are replacements for blacks.

What triggered this snowflake to get angry about a classic children's series in a videogame thread? Were they bullied by a Redwall fan as a child? Do they like rats and are triggered because Redwall characterizes rats and other vermin as violent psychopaths who kill innocents? Did they struggle to read as a child and Redwall was just the sour grapes they could never reach with a 3rd grade reading level?

I don't know. All I know is this is a terrible opinion and I now want to read Redwall out of spite.

I can't quote this enough, I consider the Danganrompa LPs to be a driving force in the killing of SA. Danganrompa brought in the Tumblr crew, who naturally gravitates to shitty weeb stuff, which in turn caused SA to start taking itself way more seriously, which resulted in what we have today.

I don't think Danganrompa was the ONLY reason that SA became what it did, but the DR LPs contributed a lot to the "normification" of SA.

Edit: Fun fact, the Danganrompa LPs are also what caused slowbeef to not want to be moderator anymore.

Idk. Worst case it just dsped it up. Ozma and cat lady crew were doing that damage long before that anime dragon Ron Paul game

Yeah, but Ozma was avoidable. Her obnoxious crew didn't permeate into EVERY subforum the way it does today.

It used to be that GBS and a couple of other assorted forums (PYF, Ask & Tell, D&D, etc) were known shitholes that you just stay out of, but most of the subforums were great. But with the influx of DR people (which is one of the only real population surges SA has had in a decade), they spread out and made the rest of the subforums unbearable too. I feel like the DR crew are the ones who killed the ENTIRE site. Ozma and her sycophant crew were localized and avoidable.

But, that's just the way I see it, I could be wrong.

Edit: To put it another way, I posted there since 2001 and never ran into Ozma, because my interests don't overlap with a crazy cat lady's interests.

That's what I've always heard but I never hung out there in that era. I never really noticed the surge of the thought policing during the Dang Gum Ron Paul era.

I'm still lol'in that BYOB/CCCC mods are up in GBS with KM trying to get the Stupid Newbie avatar changed. It's pretty obviously not meant to be an endorsement of him.

I remember that, at least in the one book I read as a kid, the foxes were gypsies. The main characters let them inside their castle, they stole shit and got kicked out.

TBH there isn't much blood to get from the donation stone. If people are going to donate they want to know it's going to go to improving the forums. Lowtax took the thousands he raised for the move to xenforo and spent it on personal bills. Not too many people are falling for his pleas anymore.

Dumb as it sounds it really makes me sad I've been lurking since 2000, got my account a few years after. Lowtax is super flawed but him being on the forums tends to be a good thing if you don't go out of your way to be a dick to him from what I've seen.

Like the threads making fun of the Gamergate stuff (mostly making fun of Zoe and crew) and the My Favorite Quotes from My 600lb Life. At least one of em was shut down for a few hours by FAU or ZDR and Lowtax showed up and reopened it and said to leave it alone.

Basically, he just lets you make fun of idiots still and for some reason that lets me overlook a lot of his more idiotic moments.

As far as mods go Jose in GBS isn't terrible either. Probably the fairest I've seen in a while. I've seen him called an Alt-right mod in QQCS and stuff just for being a lot less biased than most the other mods on the site.

The DR people were bad but Ozma/Icequeem had already set the course for SA to get poz'd out. I think you're just focused on them because of how badly it triggered the "original LP krew" faggots like slowbeef
