After decades of relegating its LGBTQ characters to the sidelines, Marvel really turned things around with America and Iceman, its first two ongoing series featuring queer characters as their titular leads. Both books have been important additions to Marvel’s ever-expanding portfolio, but it seems as if the time has come for at least one of them to end. March’s comics solicitations are out this week and a number of titles including America are conspicuously missing, which heavily implies that the titles have been canceled. This afternoon, Marvel editor Heather Antos confirmed that Gwenpool, another title missing from the March solicits, was definitely canceled, further suggesting that any titles missing from the lineup as of today are done for.

Looks good, but it does not beat Topolino

I grew up with those, I loved them!

Afterwards when I leafed through a spider-man comic, I was left with the impression they were basically mom's soap operas for teenagers, and was not interested.

SpiderGwen
SpiderGwen
Does whatever a SpiderGwen does.
Technically her alias is "Spider-Woman" but the book isn't called that because they wanted to cash in on Gwen Stacy being popular in the Andrew Garfield movies like eons ago and they already had a different Spider-Woman comic which has long since been cancelled (the one with the pregnancy plot).

I don't think any of those girls idolizing Emma Stone are still around.

.
Spidergwen on the other hand had a fuckton of potential, but squandered it after issue 1. It had a genius premise but failed to deliver because we never actually see why it's unique or different, only that Spider-Man has a vagina now. Gwen stacy can't support a comic without her relation to peter parker, because that's almost her entire character. So when that's gone, whats left?
Write her up some character. There done.

Then, you have the basis for a movie bait and switch. Where the usual Peter Parker stuff plays out, with a few scenes of Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane and Flash all getting ready for school in their own way. Then, the spider bite scene happens, but its all Gwen Stacy being all like "Eww, I got bit by a spider. Gross". Then do an entire movie on SpiderGwen, then do a sequel that's actually labeled SpiderGwen.

If you want good LGBT/POC characters, read Love and Rockets. Or don't, since it's written by a man who hasn't started his HRT yet.

My man, you have exquisite taste. Love and Rockets is a sorely underrated series and then some. It's also a prime example of a comic that meets a majority of the dangerhair's demands, but they don't ever acknowledge it for whatever arbitrary reason: it's written by men, it's an indie comic... whatever. Their loss, I suppose.

But seriously, time and again the dangerhairs prove that they don't care about anything produced that would be to their tastes, yet try to crowbar shit into where it's not supposed to be, typically the popular stuff. There's plenty of indie titles, especially produced by companies like Drawn & Quarterly, Top Shelf, and Fantagraphics that have that kind of material. But, no, because it's not from The Big Two (and even Image), people don't give a shit.

They immediately went "lol nope it was brainwashing! we got you guys good!" the next issue.
They're playing it off the Hydra period as a fake with the original just now returning after getting "replaced" in Standoff.
Why, it's almost like the writers and artists were fighting amongst themselves...

They're basically a bunch of fascists. They don't just want comics (or whatever) for them, they want to force their bullshit into shit other people buy, while they just steal shit. It's not even enough for them that they get "representation" or whatever bullshit code word they're using for it. Anything they don't like also has to be destroyed so nobody else can buy it either.
I think a lot of this nonsense is just control freaks getting their rocks off. I don't think most of these people care about any end product so much as the death grip they can have on other people's decision making. And if anybody tries to contradict them, there's always some past offense or new buzzword to crucify them with.

It's pretty funny that they're trying to ruin Cebulski. He may not be the best author, but CPM always had female-friendly releases that people actually bought. CPM gave Tomoko Taniguchi a bigger career in America than in Japan. She even got two big original "how to draw" books published a few years ago, which would never have happened without her CPM fame.

I thought I heard something about some Cosmic Cube bullshit being set up for their out when it was fresh. Was that a thing or did the Russian hacker known as 4chan spread fake comic news?

I hate comics/books/movies that set their focus on LGBT or sjw topics in general. I'm gay and when I read a comic/book, I want to read a good story (not about some queers not being able to find a big dick) the same way straight people want to read a good story and not a comic about a straight white man complaining about race autism the whole time. Marvel doesn't seem to get that most LGB-T people don't give a fuck how they're represented in fiction, they just want to be entertained. So give us entertainment and stop trying to appeal to me by producing snowflake comics.

There's a whole lot of misinformation because people got super offended on twitter without reading it.

Basically this was during a period where the Super Soldier serum wore off leaving him as an old man and during an event about a cosmic cube, there was a flash of light and he became young again. The following Captain America series had the "Hail Hydra" scene. After that you had Secret Empire where Hydra Cap takes over America which concluded with the same cosmic cube being used to bring back the real Steve Rogers who defeats him. Real Steve was trapped inside the cube during that whole time when the Hydra guy was running around.

I'm in your camp! This is what comics are about!

Afterwards when I leafed through a spider-man comic, I was left with the impression they were basically mom's soap operas for teenagers, and was not interested.
That's just what's going on these days. Nobody wants fun anymore. Of course if they really wanted that sort of stuff, perhaps they should bring these back...

And people say they don't write comics like they used to!

This story sounds very familiar...

"Hitler's mind apparently survived the destruction of the Cosmic Cube and was transmitted into yet another cloned body."

I guess if it was good enough for Hitler.

If the SJWs care so much, why aren't they making and circulating their own comics? They don't have the burden of being gigantic corporate titans like Marvel, they can afford to experiment more with niche subject matter that all the q-pocs will surely buy and support. After all, they have indie video games full of socjus themes and moralizing on steam; they mostly suck balls but the people who care seem willing to put their effort where their mouth is there and actually try to make them at least.

Because "social justice" is a primarily feminine/feminized movement, and women are wired to expect resources from men instead of earning/producing those resources themselves. Especially crazy women. How many times have you seen or heard crazy "feminists" flat out demanding straight, white men give them money? In much the way they screech about no women in STEM fields but chose to study garbage like Queer African Dance Theory, they hate being stereotyped or identified as typically feminine but choose to act hyperfeminine.

That, plus millennials are mostly lazy, spoiled virtue signalers who care more about being seen by the right people saying the right things but don't want to do anything. In fact, doing something about the "problem" is counterproductive. They might accidentally solve the problem, and then they'll have less to virtue signal about.
