There was one but the mods closed it because no one was posting content but if anyone sees some funny stuff on FatPeopleHate, save it and maybe the thread will be reopened one day.

Oh hey, I saw that.

It would take maybe 10 minutes of compiling, but I see plenty of shit there. Lots of people that brag about being 100 pounds, if not less (incredibly unhealthy), some thathappened stories, and ample racism due to the board being on voat itself. Should I post a sampling of what I find here? I also think the old FPH thread could use a rewrite in its OP since I think it was made when the board was still on Reddit.

Yeah, Voat seems to neglect most non-political conversation. As stated before, Reddit at least has niche subreddits for things like sports teams, various video games, cities, and other things so that you can filter out all the drama and politics. Voat makes no effort to build up similar subs, thus giving Reddit a distinct advantage.

The special needs crewman is allergic to polyester. Unless in the 23rd Century, the entire ship is made of polyester, she isn't "allergic to the whole fucking ship basically." It's telling that having a crewman with an allergy is what is turning this user off from a pretty solid overall show.

Seems like it's more unrealistic from the point of view that they healed radiation poisoning in episode 1 but can't cure allergies.

Yeah, that is a bit strange. Still, I don't think either is a reason to quit watching a show. Does this person hate people with bad allergies? Was it usage of the term "special needs?" Why on this blue-green, mostly harmless ball of rock is a frickin' allergy a reason to not watch a show? I mean, it's one thing to hate it because the main character is a black woman, or the fact that there's an openly gay character. Those are stupid reasons too, but that at least would fit with stuff we've seen on voat.

Double post and necro here, but this needs to be seen. OK, there is a subset of voat users who honestly think /r/ShitRedditSays (SRS) is trying to take over Voat. And there are two subverses who think this, who are at war with each other. I think the one that really takes the cake, though, is /v/realProtectVoat.

Not only do these guys think the other sub is secretly SRS, but they are claiming that SRS is farming CCP (their equivalent of Reddit Karma) from several subverses, including:
/v/eagles-the subverse for the reigning Super Bowl champs, barely active because, as mentioned before, Voat doesn't care much for building up niche subverses.
/v/K9SupremacistsUnite- latest post was 22 days ago, subverse about how dogs are the best life form on Earth, clearly a joke.
/v/ShowerThoughts-same as its reddit counterpart.
/v/Circlejerk-see above.
/v/ideasforvoat- self-explanatory.
/v/shitvoatsays-basically an equivalent of /r/bestof, most recent post was 8 months ago.

Now, I realize there is a very, VERY, slim chance they could be right. However, I doubt it. For one, a lot of the subs they accuse of being SRS aren't very active, so how anyone would farm CCP from some of these subverses, especially ones where few comments are made, as CCP comes from comments.

For another, I doubt anyone from SRS sees Voat as anything more than just a bunch of losers. Yeah, they claimed responsibility for causing Voat's PayPal to get shut down, but there's no proof that wasn't just them trolling.

Finally, SRS, while they are lolcows in their own right, don't seem to care too much about voat.

Anyway SRS probably isn't conspiring against voat. They just wanted those people quarantined away from their reddit colony and now that they are migrated to voat theres no reason to do any gay ops on them.

v/pizzagate is mostly anti-pedo and how I discovered voat. Lots of conspiracies about how Hollywood killed Stanley Kubrick after Eyes Wide Shut, etc. v/pizzagate watches and seems to have some overlap with r/gendercritical.

It’s embarrassing but it’s true, I just can’t keep it up. I’ve tried meditation, I’ve tried prayer, I’ve tried reaching out for help. Some solutions worked for a little while but nothing has remedied the underlying issue. No matter what I do, I simply just can’t keep it up. I expect most will be disappointed and let down, while others will just point and laugh. So be it, it’s a problem every man like me will face at some point.
One thing is true though, while I kept it up, it was glorious in many ways. It was the hardest (website to corrupt with CCP rules), it was the biggest (bundle of laughs ever… 4chan raids us and we didn’t even notice), it was bulging (with red pills and truth that you can’t find anywhere else), it was throbbing (with people eager to teach others the deception of the world). It’s so great in so many ways that it has a list of haters who will be extremely aroused by this post.
I know I’m going to get a hundred PMs from all of Voat’s hottest girls (Voat has some hot women, fact) with tips and tricks on how to help me keep it up. While I appreciate the concern and the offers of lending me a hand, we’re just going to have accept the situation for what it is- it’s just not going to be much fun for anyone.

What happened​

I fight not being bitter and resentful. You see, this wasn’t supposed to happen, at least not now. The short of it is that the “Angel” defaulted on the contract in March 2020. This is when Voat lost all of it’s funding. I personally decided to keep Voat up until after the U.S. election of 2020. I’ve been paying the costs out of pocket but now I’m out of money.

A New Perspective​

Instead of feeling pity or vengeful, I’m instead going to celebrate the fact that Voat stayed up for so long. In my opinion, Voat is and will always be the biggest dysfunctional family on the internet. Voat users were much more intimate with each other than other sites (chances are you have a handful of enemies and a handful of friends that you can list by name at a moment’s notice). Voat always had a better community dynamic than any other site on the internet. Considering everything, Voat was untouchable. There will never be another Voat and each of us had the opportunity to enjoy it. That’s awesome.
Some say life is worth it all if you can help just one single person. In this way I know Voat was worth it because you guys have changed thousands and thousands of people’s hearts and minds. You’ve made so many people aware of the lies taught as truth and the truth taught as conspiracy. It’s beautiful. What a great thing.
I love you all. Every single one of you. I hope you all have a life filled with overflowing joy and happiness. So many of you have been so selfless over the years, helping in so many ways. My heart is just touched when I think of all the good that was generated. Fucking love you guys (Say it in a slurred drunken voice).
Another great thing is that we stayed true over here on our end. Atko and I never betrayed our users. Never once. In fact, I can list example of example of how we ended up doing the right thing over what we wanted to do or what we felt like doing. I’ve come to find that doing the right thing is often the hardest thing. But we did it. We didn’t sell out and we passed the test.

The Sacrifice​

I will lay Voat upon the cross on December 25th 2020 at 12 noon PST. I have chosen Christmas as the day to do so in honor of the only True thing you will find in this world and that is Jesus Christ, the son of God, and the only way to the Father. I chose 12 noon in honor of the twelve disciples who spread the message of salvation to the world. In this way, my hope is that perhaps 12 people will carry the cross for Freedom of Speech and sacrifice part of their lives for an ideal in the way I did, but hopefully with much more success, glory, and reward.

The Triumph of Defeat​

It seems like a great time to share one of my favorite quotes, so I will leave it here.

Looks like they're calling it quits, the guy is making a big sideshow about funding and most of the comments are bitching about how there was no request for a donation drive. Likely the people running it just want to call it quits on an unprofitable venture.
 
Some speculation that the site has been funded until this point as a place to spread QAnon conspiracy theories. Would make sense, the Trump election team is shutting down at this point, Q is going silent, now they're pulling the plug on Voat too.
