Self defense is always determined as what is a proportional response. There is some precedent that sucker punching someone can be lethal, in this case the guy appears to have been actively stalking Chud, meaning it was more reasonable he could be fearing for his life. Whether the shooting was justified depends on if threats were uttered, if the guy was walking away or towards Chud after the assault and other factors.

A reasonable person does not Infact expect to suddenly attacked when they insult someone, they expect to be insulted back and reported to the police for harassment or disturbing the peace.

I should note that the assault is always illegal, but getting called a nigger is a mitigating factor. This guys attack was likely premeditated, but if you do have someone chimp out at you after insulting them and they kill you they are probably only getting hit with a manslaughter or 2nd degree charge, and a slap on the wrist for an assault. So you risking your like to put a guy away for like 5-10 years max or something.

German self defense laws are quite good and cover any transgression even against third persons, but ultimately useless because it's so difficult to get weapons here and nobody wants to deal with the court system. But technically Chud would walk free even in Germany since he got attacked, the gun is legal and courts will not expect you getting into fist fights and he had no other means for protecting his life/body.
