Elliot Page / Ellen Page - Former actress, starred in Juno. Turned into a pooner and divorced her wife because being a lesbian was not boosting her career anymore. Receives a daily dose of asspatting from Hollywood. Likes to show off her "male" body using fake abdominals.

They've actually could've just re-imagined it in a modern setting. Kinda like how the 90s movie 10 Things I Hate About You is just Taming of the Shrew but in 90s

Done masterfully in O Brother, Where Art Thou (2000).

Could easily be done again with the right creatives at the helm, and should have been what Nolan went with if he was determined to cast every high-profile plastic surgery face he could find.

ellen is going to play the ghoulish spectre of achilles clawing his way out of the river styx like anne heche and people are going to applaud this as progressive

The Ellen Page/Achilles thing is absurd, but the black woman/Helen of Troy is much worse.

You expect me to believe multiple armies go to war with each other for 10+ years over this?
I don't think you understand what natural childbirth, plague, pestilence, famine and zero dentistry used to do to women's bodies and faces. Plus, a thinner woman would genuinely not have been considered attractive back in the day. Nolan's a colourblind hack but his selection of "Soft Classic + IDK in this version she's descended from foreign POWs" technically works. She's a 10 but in the "rich guy's well behaved wife" sort of way. She looks terrible in red, though. They gotta stop putting cool reds anywhere near her.

Maybe Nolan's styx gives you aids instead of invulnerability and Achilles Page's heel is the only thing that isn't infected with the gay plague.

Achilles is in the Odyssey. He is in Hades and says he would rather be a living slave than king of the dead.

That being said, I can hardly think of a worse casting choice for the greatest hero of the Heroic Age.

On Helen: It wasn't just her beauty that started the war. It was the fact that she was the ACTUAL legitimate royal. Whoever was married to her was, by default, king of Sparta. Without her, Menelaos has no claim to the throne. And second, the bidding oath to defend her marriage was far more important than her appearance.

Overall, her status as queen and daughter of Zeus and the oath played a far bigger role than her appearance in the conflict. Of course, it is worth mentioning that Paris wanted her for her appearance alone but it is also worth mentioning the other reasons the Greeks wanted her back.

"Approach the throne, noble chronicler Nolanus. What would you ask of us?"

"Mighty Agamemnon, for my epic tale of thrice-doomed Troy, I seek players for noble Achilles and the beauteous Helen. I ask that you grant this BOON."

"Sure, I can make that happen. How about Ellen Page as Achilles?"

"No, actually not what I asked for... "

"Oh, right right right. Thought you said something else. Okay, how about Lupita NyOng'Y'o? She fits, right?"

"Sigh"

In any case she was less likely to have been black than Cleopatra.

And Cleopatra certainly wasn’t black.

Ellen Page looks like an older woman with short hair.

A thinner woman was attractive in context or was at least a mark of social class. One mediaeval Pope (maybe John XII) was noted by Bishop Liutprand of Cremona of having a broad taste in women from ordinary working women walking the street to aristocratic women reed thin by dieting. Anyhow, I certainly don't think the Greeks and Trojans would wage war of a near boyish looking black woman. Why do they have ruin the legends and lore of ancient Europe? It's deliberate.

Was re-watching the old X-Men movies the other day and got a jump scare seeing Ellen pre-trans joy, because man she was so cute and charismatic as Kitty Pryde.

Genuinely, how can anyone look at her pre transition vs now (allowing for natural aging) and think this was the better option?

boyish looking
What the fuck kind of boys have that body, I'm scared.

She's in a movie of The Odyssey, not the Inquisition. Being creepily thin is thankfully acceptable in current year, but I don't think a 1950s size 2 was considered particularly feminine in antiquity. Anyway, as another poster said, the queen of the Spartans could have been 80 pounds soaking wet and completely bogged in the face and still have no trouble getting a husband.
And Cleopatra certainly wasn’t black.
She was absolutely the pinnacle of Greek beauty, though.
Paris wanted her for her appearance alone
Then maybe they should have cast Chris Hemsworth.

They may troon out Achilles if everything winds up being true.

"Troonacy is on its way out! People are peaking!" Everyone who keeps telling me, go fuck yourselves. This shit will keep happening more and more because TPTB have a vested interest in castrating the masses, shortening the average lifespan, and of course they need guinea pigs for their transhumanist experiments. No matter how much you or I fight it, those who own the media, the medical establishment, and the means of living in general, want transgenderism to be normal, so it will be normal.
