At least she's still a woman. But it looks like Nolan's Odyssey is supposed to be fantastical and stylized anyway, being a modern artsy fartsy reimagining. and that's probably to justify the cast. With all the sci-fi looking armor in there too.

Also, I did saw the trailer when it came out on Twitter and hoo boy it looks just as I expected, I can't believe some people were right that they were casting her as Achilles when the announcement was made. This is going to be Nolan's Godfather III on the aspect of massive flops made by amazing directors.

Also, Helen of Troy being casted by a sheboon who would probably be a slave in ancient Greece was certainly a choice to be made, I can guarantee that not a single war would've fought for a woman that looks like that.
 
After Oppenheimer, Nolan had the golden ticket in terms of what he could do, how he could do it, who he could cast (anyone) and how much a studio would pay for.

Putting Ellen in the movie makes little sense other than a pity job for this mentally ill shell of a woman. Did something happen on the set of Inception that compelled him 16 years later to cast her? Of all the actors Nolan has worked with that could’ve had a role here- Chalamet, Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, he chooses Page??

I almost feel like I have to see this to believe it. Theres no way they actually cast fucking zippertits Paige to play Achilles. Achilles is already dead by the Odyssey if I remember correctly and appears as a ghost. So unless theres flashbacks to the war, all were gonna get is the random appearance of some FTM troon who claims to be Achilles, post-ACK. Its gonna be so hilariously bad I'll get kicked out of the theater because I wont be able to stop laughing.

e: i just took a shit and remembered... wait a minute this is THE ODYSSEY. Achilles isn't in the fucking odyssey, he's in the illad. He appears as a spectre in the underworld along with other heroes - this is a very small bit part
