its a rough draft and im still experementing
also part of me wants to keep characters black and white as an artistic choice
edit: happy with most of it but not all of it

Really really fucking cool, I think you nailed the light on the brickwork and the neon sign.
I hope you don't mind I had a go at colouring the character as well

The overall colour of the scene is a darkish purple/red since it's covered by a red brick wall at night, so I started with that as a base colour for her jacket and shifted it a little for the jeans/metal objects. Skin colour was a bit harder to pick but I think since she's away from the windows, a more muted tone would work. Since skin usually sits in a yellow/orange tone it will be overall less saturated in a blue/purple nighttime vibe.

I added some highlights back in but tried to keep them more restrained. I wanted to keep the purple and yellow since it looks great but it was hard to decide where they were coming from.

You are the second person who said the sign looks good, and honestly i thought it looked bad and was ready to redoo
that

yeah i had dificulties with the skin tone ,orginally she ended up orange
i do like how you did the jeans and the 3rd pinkish color on the skin
thanks i will use it

i want to document the process of how i do that cause maybe its not the best way to it but its the one i come up with
first i do basic colors in a very dark tone of what they should be
Снимок экрана 2026-05-10 142926.png
then after many expirimintation i descovered this brush in krita
Снимок экрана 2026-05-10 143004.png
at 50% oppacity it really works well when you use more darker colors, as you can see below in the corner
Снимок экрана 2026-05-10 144338.png
yellow is the strongest color of what i used in the context of this drawing and it gives nice golden color
the brigther parts means i did 2 strokes in that spot

also i finished the witch and quite happy with it now
fixed her nails on the hand that is on the door and added some hatching on the inner side of the hat

Well, these last days i've been obsessing over proportions and sizes. I don't know if it's my own retarded brain or something, but i swear that i have a really hard time grasping proportions and i need to do experiments on them. Even harder when i get to 3/4 view.

At least with this i managed to glean that men shoulders are 3 and half heads and women are around 3. I need to do more experiments and possibly full body stuff because these are really not amazing.

Once i manage to get things clear i will go back to my clothes and armor studies.

You have a good grasp on how the muscles are placed, especially in the shoulder and arm area (I remember struggling with that a lot in the USIPS thread).
I would say the female figure is a bit too wide in the shoulders, but it might be because of the pose and the muscles.

Some people have told me i have a pretty good sense for anatomy but i wouldn't take it for granted. I still have ways to go in every regard and tbh, the pecs-delts muscle is my main key to get the arm right.

Are they really? Because i think that they are a bit too narrow since the torso and the waist end up looking way too small. Maybe it's because of how i do the deltoids but i still think on the female one the shoulders are a bit too narrow.

btw as a guide i use as a base that guys have 2 heads and a half and women have 2 (on shoulder width). The problem is when i have to change it to 3/4 and i have to do reduce it a bit. I know art is not precise measurements but i just vibe better with that

ignore me, i checked
mustve been the arms pointed outwards that therw me off

supposed to be audrey hepburn
it doesnt look too much like her
1778442899999.png
i think its the shape of the eye, she has more of the teardrop shaped eye while your's is almond shaped
1778442823027.png
if you want to make people look less asian pronounce more the second eyelid (if thats what its called)

but non the less really good work

No prob. I don't make figures with the arms sticking to the body because who the fuck feels comfortable like that?

Still, i'll try to do some practise doing small tweaks to the base proportions. I think 2 heads on shoulder width for women is almost the limit of how small a woman can be, so i'll shoot up a bit for the sake of trying. All for the sake of my retarded ideas

I'll post it here as well and request a roasting. supposed to be audrey hepburn but she came out kinda asian i think. I'm better at thinking in shapes than I am with lines, if that makes sense. and even though I prefer pencil and paper, digital really is great for that.

I think this is great tbh. I especially like how you rendered the hair, its very readable without overdoing it.
I think you did the eyes fine, given the level of detail. The shape is slightly off imo but can be read as just a different expression and while it does look a bit asian without the pronounced eyelid fold (the epicanthal) that is always a struggle with eyes. They just have a lot of 3-dimensional detail and you will always lose something when simplifying them, but I think what you have works fine.

Personally I would try bulking up her eyebrows a little, the real ones are very striking and yours are on the thin side. I would also add a stronger shadow to the nose and maybe suggest the cheekbone. The light shadow of the nose could be contributing to it looking Asian since they tend to be flatter.
I really like the simple shape design of the hands.

In a relaxed pose people's arms bend back, rather than straight outwards. So there's a bit of pointing outwards, but not all the time.
What I notice about your proportions is that you overall draw shoulders on the narrow side but also your torsos are pretty narrow. What I mean is you draw the ribcage without considering the back muscles like the lats and serratus which wrap around the ribcage and should especially be visible when the arms are pointed out. Try adding some mass in between the arms and the ribcage.

my attempt.

I was gonna grab a reference from the Proko website but that fag makes you log in to download their free packs and I can't remember my password, Instead I found this screenshot from his video on pectorals:

1778448141789.png
Your proportions in comparison to the male figure have an odd build. Like they have trained arms and pectorals, but their lower back and abdomen are skinny and underdeveloped.

Yeah, it's a thing a buddy of mine has told me as of late. I make them too skinny. Very slim. It's all my retarded worry about making things too big that i keep doing all these drawings too slim or small. I blame partly the animu brain poison that has got me and a few other things.

For comparison, these i made around last year. Just to have reference measurements.

Maybe i should draw more real life models. Fucking pinterest bombards me with drawn models and that probably fucks with my perception

Im thinking about a new character concept but the idea is very undercooked so far
The main idea i had is to use the classic monk haircut that is called tonsure but make out of it scruffy big lebovsky kinda thing with keeping the top shaved.
And yeah because of it its he is a cleric.
So question here is more about character design rather than technicality. Its a rough sketch anyway that i did while i was bored.
Not sure about clothes but i do want to have a cassette tape player with the bible cause i think its kinda funny.

Tbh i like it. I could picture this guy blasting Dorime while he goes to bible study.

I would say the weakest point is, unfortunately, the hair since it looks damn weird. Otherwise, i really like the baggy clothes and the cross. I would give him baggy monk pants rather than cargo but that's my personal preference.

Dunno if i should post my retarded OCs too. I'm very self concious about them

I never really concidered these guys to be my OCs. I just came up with them to draw someone do retarded shit.
Maybe i will give him full set of hair. I attempted more serious try today and still not completely sold on the idea.

Still, he looks damn rad and ready to deliver some holy justice around. Reminds me of that part in the Expendables 2 where Jason Staham beats people with a censer. Plus, the clothing details are amazing.

I'd say the thing that really draws attention is the hair since it looks weird as fuck. You could go with a skullet but in this case i think you should go with what you want.
Is there any better techniques for setting up or whatever its called in art

Separate the body into different more simple shapes and work from there. For example, the ribcage is an egg or the hips are a buckte/bowl.

Also, look for certain body parts as points of reference to build the body. The chest, the armpits, the bellybutton, the collarbone... This last one helps me a lot.

btw yesterday i got into drawing some more to practise propotions again. I dusted off one of my old nude reference archives and got to work. I think drawing real people helped me a lot rather than getting pinterest references that mess with my perception.

theres a trick with the grid that you can try to help you draw from the reference
the principle is pretty simple - you just sperate the image on the bunch of smaller segments and focus on those one at the time and make sure so the lines connect in between cells
and use grid as the ancor for comparing the refernce to your drawing
