This weekend has two furcons happening in New Jersey at the exact same time: Furgeddaboutit and The Bigger One. I've already written about the extreme autism and shitflinging among everyone involved, so I'm not going to dig too deeply into that again. You can read my other posts in the thread if you want more context. What caught my interest this time is that Toofy has continued to make a massive ass out of themselves.

So who the hell is Toofy, and why should anyone care? Quick version: Toofy (also known as Reiki Gryphon, Ezra Sabercakes, Toofydust, Connor Paul and probably 20 other names at this point) is the owner of the NJ-based Pinefur meets. They have a reputation for banning people for petty reasons, ignoring actual issues, and allegedly allowing minors near alcohol at these events.

A few highlights I pulled from casually browsing their social media:

Toofy is also a heavy Wikifur user and has obsessively used it to hype their own event while shit-talking other New Jersey ones.

I'm not going to go much further into Toofy or Pinefur right now, but it's important context. For some reason, Drayne and the rest of the Furrydelphia staff thought it would be a good idea to openly advertise that they were collaborating with this group despite its absolutely garbage-tier reputation and being one of the most disliked groups in the northeastern US scene. There are plenty of reasons NJ furries dislike Furgeddaboutit, but this is, without a doubt, the biggest one.

At some point, Toofy was removed from TBO entirely, but Furged continued to keep them around. Apparently, Toofy didn't realize they couldn’t just sneak back into the banned chat on a sockpuppet account and keep starting arguments, because TBO caught on and ejected them again, if the post that was forwarded to me is anything to go by.

Seems like this was finally enough to get Furged to finally tell Toofy to fuck off as well.

Also semi-related: TBO has a panel on Sunday night that seems to exist solely to talk about how bad Garden State Fur The Weekend was.

If any furries lurking this thread are going to TBO, I'd love to hear what comes out of that panel. I'm not encouraging anyone to stir things up, but if someone happens to record it or take good notes, I'd definitely be interested in hearing the stories.

Hope you didn't jizz on the plushie you're selling, there are inspectors at NeighCon checking each and every one of them!

That's a lot of plushies, probably a reseller. Given the depravity of the MLP fandom, the Law of Large numbers and the fact that they're probably second hand. It's inevitable that at least one of those has been contaminated, eww.

Unironically not a bad idea to bring one of these blacklights to a furry convention as well.

* Check the hotel room for bedbug activity
* Check ID's (real ones fluoresce and have features plainly visible under blacklight; try yours today!)
* Check shit like this in the Dealer's Den
* Wave it at suspicious fursuits to re-enact "Fur And Loathing"

A proper, bright UV flashlight is mandatory travel gear anyway. Even if you aren't going to use it to be a pain in the ass to the hotel staff about how fucking foul your hotel room is, it can still tell you whether to at least ask for "fresh" sheets or to scrub the toilet first before you sit down on that sucker.

Even better odds for fucked plushies; that's a display/panel for people who brought them to the convention. At least with a reseller, they'd have justification to try a modicum of a deep cleanse.

There used to be bidding wars on crusty, old Fursuits on Furbid and Furbuy. Some dude even spent a fortune to buy that matted up Anubis Fursuit that was worn in various Mursuit videos, said it was his dream to own it or something, how gross?

lol why does it look like a bitcoin whitepaper?
this is him btw. he looks like the type to diaper up and watch bluey while shidding and farding which is exactly what adult bluey convention would be so no the BBC don't want to license it

I find it a little intriguing that cons over the last several months haven't generated anywhere near the amount of drama as one would have expected. We're on day 3 of one of the largest fur cons and there's been nothing truly noteworthy to come out of Atlanta so far.

I haven't been obsessively monitoring social media about FWA, but no drama bombs have seemed to explode. The closest I've seen is someone claiming to be disabled bitching about a doberman fursuiter cutting in front of them to get into an elevator and telling them that "fursuiters always go first". The only thing even noteworthy about the vague callout against some random unnamed fursuiter was that people assumed it was Duke Doberman and started harassing him about it when he's not even at the convention.

I considered it a nothing burger so didn't bother saving links or anything, but wish I had simply to illustrate the point that convention drama has been pretty lame as of late.
