Not a medfag, but Hantavirus primarily spreads from infected mouse piss and shit. If you touch the infected mouse piss and shit, you catch it. It can spread through the air, especially if it disperses from said infected mouse piss and shit, but it doesn't spread airborne from person-to-person very well. There's already a strain (Andes strain) that does this, but it's rare and only happens after extended and close contact. The typical tradeoff for viruses is that high lethality leads to low spread and transmission. Ebola is a great example of this: it kills the shit out of you, but it does this so quickly that you can't spread it to many people.I'm no Doctor by any means, but Hantavirus usually spreads by mouse shit AFAIK. Most likely they'll trace the outbreak to some bad dish prepared by the cruise line. If that happens... Holy hell Diamond Cruises better be ready for some heavy-duty lawsuits and their reputation going into the gutter.
If it truly is an airborne strain of Hantavirus... That could be really bad. 100% of the population getting the original Covid strain would be less disastrous than 2% of the population getting Hantavirus. If that happens, China is getting nuked.
Any actual medfags here want to chime in?
Hantavirus can kill you dead pretty good, but this reduces the chance of it spreading.
