You could torture statistics to try to make your point, or you could just admit you are wrong and move on (or you could just move on without acknowledging you're wrong). It's not that rapists can't get it up for old women. It's that older people are not as often in situations where they encounter a violent criminal. Or in Andrea Dworkin's case (and by the way, you've never heard of any rape victims gaining weight because they don't want men's attention? I personally know four or five women who gained weight after being sexually assaulted _specifically_ to drew less attention from males), a 65 year old is much less likely to be in a bar in the first place.

Guess what percentage of people over 65 are victims of murder? Yes, that would be about the same number as you said: 3 to 5 percent.

People over 65 are a very small percentage of carjacking victims.

And: "Adults aged 65+ make up a very small, single-digit percentage (typically 1 to 2%) of overall crime victims nationwide."

Adults failed this person, and as far as it goes, this person looked to be on a very radical path. His life was never going to go the way we wish it could have. Goes to show how important it is to have involvement in your kids' lives.

The kid got off on forcing his way into girl's protected spaces and he wasn't going to quit. Did the adults in his life fail him? Absolutely, they should've slapped this shit out of him when it first surfaced. They didn't and instead a good kid became a fetishist who got off on wearing woman face and forcing strangers to play along.

What happened to him was despicable but that did not give him the right to abuse the rest of the world in retaliation. His parents now pay the price for what they did and it will surely destroy them, as it should.

I'm not going to celebrate his death but I won't lament it either. Hopefully some parents in a similar situation can learn from this mess.

I strongly feel that anger/direct opposition is the exact wrong way to convince young people not to transition. They just interpret it like "YOUNG MAN GET BACK HERE THIS INSTANT!" or "you are NOT leaving the house in those shorts". Adolescent rebellion thrives off of that shit, and it just feeds their narcissistic victim complexes.

What you actually have to do is undercut their confidence. Don't be angry, just be pitying, confused, and-- more than anything else-- disgusted. It's not rebellion, it's wetting the bed. It's nasty, it's uncool, it makes people think they're ugly and gross, and you want to help them stop. Shame is the only thing that teaches people. And if you find out they're totally incapable of feeling shame, it's time to let them go, because they're not viable offspring.

I think you're conflating points here. I'm talking about in the pre-modern and early-modern era when women weren't allowed on stage. Back then they had teenage boys play the women's parts because on the stage in make-up they could pass as a woman, once they reached about 20 or a bit older depending on the person, they started doing men's parts because even a dimly lit stage in make-up and costume it started to look like a farce, not unlike drag queens of today.

The same thing happened in Beijing Opera, even though their make-up and acting style are even more highly stylized than the classical stage acting in Europe was. Beijing opera being a much newer invention.
The only place where older men played women's parts was in Noh and later more formalized versions of Kabuki where the characters are conveyed not by the actor but by the performance of the archetype and it's more about conforming to the rigid archetypal expectations that makes the actor and not a sense of dramatic believability that European acting valued and still values.
