Fuckkkkkkkkk there's barely anything to talk about in terms of official media. Fossilized Wonders came out last year. My sense of time is completely FUCKED.

Maybe a new fighting game like Hisoutensoku or Urban Legend in Limbo?

Here's a neat secret about enjoying anything: there is no community. Forget this commie nonsense. The moment you understand this, you're free. Liking something doesn't make you part of a group.
This. I always find complaints about The Fandom™ as if it was something monolithic dumb but in the case of touhou it's especially retarded. The fans are more diverse than a /pol/ meeting. There are 4channers, redditors, tumblrfags, whites, japs, blacks, third worlders, nazis, commies and everyone in between, gooners, puriteens, lolicons and yurifags. You can choose who you interact with.
But no matter how different we all are, everyone can get along with each other. Except for a certain group of people. You know who I’m talking about. you know who.png

Supposedly, lesbians clip their fingernails because having longer nails hurts when you push them repeatedly into certain sensitive areas.
Yeah I realized afterwards that its about clipping nails rather than letting them grow out, was having a brain fart.
Do not make this mistake. Unemployed loudmouths obsessed with porn are not the entire fandom. Those useless fags are just loud, and there's enough Touhou for everyone.

Lore discussion has always been a minor thing, the majority of the fans don't even play the OG games and assume fanlore as canon. ZUN not caring about developing some of the characters enough is both a curse and a blessing. Just enjoy the good things, friend; Touhou is bigger than any passing fad.
All of that is true, I still enjoy the series and the characters regardless of everything, just wish it wasn't so associated with perverts and deviants. Even my wife makes fun of how the fandom usually is, plus the cast being 99% women but she does like some of the character designs. Just wish I could interact with people more into the official content and canon without also diving into autistic perversion. Christian Touhou group when?

Would also be cool if the series focused more on religion and tradition again instead this dead-end Lunarian conflict and whatever tf the games have been since LoLK, I really like the vibes of the second Windows generation even though not really enjoying Japanese folklore myself. ZUN please....

And yeah newgens still get into Touhou but it's mostly a trend towards imagined internet nostalgia with how old the series is and general weebery.

Are you familiar with the fangames by ido? Their first game, The Last Comer, literally deals with Christian mythology. The second game, Mystical Power Plant, although dealing with a plot unrelated to the first, adds another character to what can be best described as the "Christian faction." Then, in 2019, we got Hollow Song of Birds which starts diving into Egyptian mythology.

The Last Comer is weirdly difficult, even on easy.
On the contrary, I find TLC pretty dang easy, even after patching it to fix the framerate issues, and even then it still runs at like 56 FPS with the occasional dip. Much easier than MPP in my experience.

Bare in mind that I'm someone who plays Touhou games on Normal, maybe Hard if it's a game I'm very familiar with (Games 4-8.).

Hollow Song of Birds is an absolute gemerald of a fangame, having Kaguya be a playable character was really neat too.
Massive fan of the extra stage boss- loved her so much I made a fumo plush of her!

Fossilized shit.

I agree but it is obnoxious when their slop gets mixed into your feeds when it becomes so prevalent.

I haven't actually but I have seen some of the characters shared around. Read the wiki on The Last Comer and it's a bit outside of what I'd play but the other ones seem interesting, never actually played a fan game before. I'm happy that there are more foreign (to a Jap) inspired characters being introduced now though, I like Chiyari for playing into the chupacabra stuff, though she always looked like a crackhead from Appalachia to me.
