This is what happens when it's late at night, your inhibitions have naturally lowered, you've been plagued with self-doubt and other issues for a while, and you assure yourself it's okay because it's not like you're going to wear it in public.

This is going to be fun for a while or turn into a complete disaster.
We're still waiting on an explanation, lil bro

I bought a deck of tarot cards
I don't really believe in that hocus pocus, I just thought that tarot readings would be a fun thing to learn to do
OR you're going to reenact the DC snipers MO.

I have these sleep headbands I wear at night so I can listen to stuff when I'm going to bed.

Nothing wrong with having one or two pairs, but every time I see them for a steal price on Ebay I buy backup pairs. I've got at least 10+ of them. can't tell you how many because I haven't been keeping a count.

I do recommend them, though.

More of a “funny” one

I once brought a copy of Area 51 for the PS2 and opened it to find the a copy of the Office inside instead of the game lol
I once bought a VHS copy of Ghostbusters 2 at a flea market with a completely normal looking label and case, but when I popped it in to watch it the entire thing was in French.

I ended up giving it to the French teacher at my school because what the fuck else was I gonna do with it?

The liner note has to be the most autistic document I've come across. Over one page and a half, Stockhausen forensically documented what the pianist ate, drank, and smoked around the time of recording, the time he went to bed and how well (or badly) he slept, because Stockhausen said, "I learned from these sessions how much the recording process, playback quality, and even the pianist's playing is dependent on these conditions". Very few words are spent on the music itself; for that you have to buy his books.

If you ask whether such meticulous attention to details translate to great sound, the answer is fortunately yes.

Before recording this piece ("Klavierstücke IX", the most famous of the set), the pianist had for lunch a glass of tomato juice, a saltimbocca alla romana with spaghetti, an ice-cream coffee float with whipped cream, 200 ml of Johannisberg wine, and two bottles of mineral water. He asked for a bottle of coca-cola after the recording was done.

I was watching an MRE Steve video and he was raving about the Scho-ka-kola included with it. I like chocolate, coffee, and cola so it seemed right up my alley. I spent way too much to get some but it is pretty damn good. I also melted a couple into my coffee this morning for some extra caffeination. I feel like I could march from Berlin to Warsaw.

Origami star paper. Started a project filling Starbucks Frappucino bottles with stars that match the flavors. Halfway done the mocha bottle but I ran out of brown paper.

Unreliable harmonizer, probably best used as an overcomplicated bass synth/fuzz. Just got it so not sure yet, but that seems to be what it wants to do.

Stockhausen would like it.

Runs on weirdly low amperage so it'll probably die to a single accidental carpet-static shock.

highly error-prone and annoying-sounding quasi-fuzz for bass guitar (approximately)

kind of expensive, but recommended for anyone who plays monophonic electric instruments and hates pleasant sounds
Looks like the kind of thing tranny lolcow Devi Ever builds. It isn't but here's someone playing another thing from the same company with one of Devi's.

A more wannabe-autistic purchase but I can't find one that fits my type of autism when it comes to action figures. A Starfire action figure BUT her design is from the 2018 Judas contract movie. Kari Whalgren's performance tops that grating bitch Tara Strong's. It seems the newer figures like to make her look man-ish too, which is dumb.

Ebay spelunking paid off big time today. I took a chance and tossed in a bid on a Linhof Super Technika V 4x5 camera in unknown condition that came in a case with a bunch of random unknown accessories. It was apparent the seller was an estate sale scalper and didn't know what they had, so it could have either been completely trashed with a box full of junk, or in excellent condition with some very valuable accessories.

It arrived today and turned out to be the latter: the camera is in near-perfect condition apart from the expected dried out grease and some flaking finish on the inside of the bed (nothing that a few hours on the workbench with some q tips and isopropyl alcohol won't fix) and came with three lenses: a 90mm wide angle, 150mm normal, and 270mm short telephoto, and the rangefinder cams to go with them. All original Schneider-Kreuznach lenses in Compur shutters with the glass in immaculate condition. A couple of the shutters are a little sticky on the slower speeds, but I suspect a bit of cleaning and oiling will fix that right up. I will have to double check the bellows to make sure there aren't any pinholes, but they look fine on cursory inspection.

It also came with two viewfinders and a grip for a Hasselblad, also in great condition, which will resell for a good bit of cash (I don't have Hasselblad money lmao).

Even without factoring in the value of the Hasselblad parts, the whole outfit is easily worth 2 to 3 times what I paid for it.

I'm toying with the idea of something for my show's an mobile sales at fairs, farmers markets, carboots an other events- I'm sick of having to deal with tables, I've made some really nice heavy ones that can survive the general public and a lot of weight on them but they are always a fucking faff to deal with BUT! then it hit me I can buy one of these things.
Screenshot 2026-04-15 at 10-38-30 mobile site office at DuckDuckGo.png

They are ply or fiberglass boxy caravans and most of the ones I know of an are used as a mobile office on building sites or larger gas, water electricity jobs etc, my thinking is bust out one of the sides and have some steps that fold in an out with display cases, shelving and alike with other things on the folded out sides and maybe two tables and a fold out awning to keep the sun or water off.

Tow that behind the van to my pitch, set it up, pop out the tables open the awning and i'm all set for the day.

Other than that nothing interesting other than some random seeds for the veg garden, and my own personal tisim gave me some ideas as that's my personal side of the garden / area around the house but that's just me thinking ahead.

The Complete Encyclopedia of Motorcars 1885-1968, picked it up second hand for 25 bucks. And it really is complete, covering makes I've never heard of before, over 600 pages. No Teslas, Kia, Hyundais or such as it came out in 1968 of course, but if I want to identify some obscure car in traffic in Istanbul or Vienna in 1921 from an old pic I can do it. I already have a fair few other automotive books but this covers the early 20th century stuff really well that is difficult to find much about online

I love books like this, and I honestly just buy them to look through you have no idea how many books are called some variation of "Encyclopedia of all tools" and they are all different with different names and styles but all obviously mechanically the same item, The Janes books are also wonders if you can find them I have a few Cold War ones that have really obscure craft in them like road legal cars that can convert into aircraft, even those Soviet Aircranoplans, some of the Ships an shipping ones - the sort of information that appeals to my tisim and also some amazing photography.

I used to love that stuff, the tin's are really useful as well I've still got loads of them in various tackle box's, or holding small screws etc all over the place. I remember seeing someone building a small trench radio inside a tin of one once on the early internet.

I've been wanting a handheld PC for a while and decided about a month and a half ago to finally pull the trigger given the memory shortage and Steam Deck stock issues. Ended up with the top of the line Legion Go S with the Z1 processor and 32GB RAM. I haven't had a ton of time to mess around with it, but I've been impressed so far. I took it on a recent trip and it was just damn cool to whip it out and play some New Vegas at the airport gate. The last few nights I've been playing Mass Effect LE in bed before I go to sleep. Again, just a damn cool experience. The battery life leaves a lot to be desired, but I kind of expected that going in.

I recently picked up a 1.5TB microSD to load up my ROM library onto it. Still a work in progress. I'm finding it a bit aggravating trying to get everything to my liking with EmuDeck and ES-DE, but I find enjoyment tinkering with shit like that. Also trying to get some non-Steam/Windows games (WoW and Final Fantasy XI) running in Linux. I have next to no experience with Linux, so that's been interesting too. Hoping I'll have a couple days free soon just to dedicate to getting everything just right with it.
Proton is your friend there. I'd say stick with either 10.0.4, or the Proton-GE, as 11 has been weird for me. Once you install your Windows game on the windows side of your dual boot, and you add it to your steam library, you can specify what compatibility layer to use via the settings gear.

Oh, and get yourself a dock for that bad boy - bam - very capable gaming machine for the big screen, and no battery worries.

I've bought 6 liters of synthetic Lion piss, I've got some fox's on my land and other than Chickenopilis (the the chicken shed my an my niece decorated) I've got no issues with them living on my land and while I've not lost a bird yet I don't want to so before I resort to more traditional methods I'm going to try this to scare them off, it kinda works I spilled some on my trouser leg and the Dog's refused to go near me until I washed it off (there is science behind this, it's one of the reasons we humans find the smell of predatory animals utterly revolting in comparison to a herbivores), so I am hoping this sprayed around a bit keeps them away from my birds.

Those CB Radios I've got, my friend was well chuffed and is putting a set together for me I was missing Antennas (well decent ones that had those ones like old car / radio ariels built in) and a signal filter (not sure what it's really called) but it kinda looks like a old bookcase radio amp for highfi but he's got a matching one he's giving me for a nice vintage unit rebuild in exchange for everything else I had and some general help with using it etc, should be a fun experience and for the sweet price of fuck all I'm down for that.

Other than that, I've bought some Polly Tunnel Frames, I was going to make them but when I did a time an cost calculation it was cheaper to jsut buy them, they should be here end of next week, I'm going to try running a irrigation system in one and if it works I'll put it in the other two, and I am working on a way to have them heated in winter using a massive compost pile as the heat source.

I have this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0762493410?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2 it lives on my desk the cow has a magnet in it so in the plastic tube it looks like it's being sucked up into the UFO, I've also got a 90's "I WANT TO BELIEVE" poster, about 15 years ago I just missed getting David Duchovney to sign it.

I did meet Gillian Anderson a few years later who didn't sign it (I wasnt at that kind of event) but she gave me a Dana Skully businesses card that was signed and looks cool in my file of business cards apparently she does that rather than signing items for people but only ones she meets at non-x-files events (there was a party my sister was at I got invited too an she was there an we got chatting an I think she could see I was trying not to ask her anything about the x-files), she is a genuinely nice person too and leant heavily into her roll as Skully and read up on Medical, Scientific and more esoteric subjects while performing the part to the point she developed a serious intrest in them in her own right.
