Well, think of it like how Anisa Jomha workshops therapists until she finds one who'll agree with everything she says with no pushback. Karl is gonna get a lawyer who's dumb and/or greedy enough to take his case on. I have a very hard time believing any judge/jury would ever look at this and agree it's defamation. But hey, we get to see the spiral continue with even more money he probably doesn't have being burned, so no complaints from me.

I don't get what harm Billy caused Karl. Karl lost his last case and his business because he's a lying retard. The judicial system doesn't give a fuck about donkey Kong scores but that's the hill Karl died lied on. This is a pathetic attempt to save face because Billy Nike mogged him and turned him into a discount coupon.

It's ego. If I remember correctly, the last case was Billy taking Jobst to court in his home country with Billy winning. Jobst here thinks he can pull the same shit on Billy, but what he doesn't know is how a frivolous case like this will be near instantly tossed out in this country. If he was smart he'd play to his home court advantage where he could easily win, but really I think it has little to do with winning his money, he just wants to stick it to the man the same way it was done unto him.


edit: Anyone think about how this shit is giving Billy legitimate wins for once?

Karl lied about that. Billy's lawsuit didn't even mention the cheating allegations as a count. It was about Karl's lie that Billy drove a man to suicide.

Did Billy backstab and throw him under the bus the moment it was convienient, under the guise of being his "friend" or "members of the same community"?

Outside of the semantics of Billy using an emulator at some point, its hard to even call any of Billys scores "cheated". Yes emulator use is 'against the rules' but it largely comes down to emulators not playing "exactly" like the original hardware. In most cases, the emulator is 99.99% accurate, so calling it outright cheating comes off as hyper-autism, even in something as autistic as speedrunning or high-scores.

Billy has clearly demonstrated multiple times, live, that he is capable of these scores.

No. Nothing can explain a way the MAME loading screen.
The issue being that Karl lied about what the lawsuit in Australia was about, collected money via GoFundMe, never told anyone that the cheating was actually not material to the case AT ALL, then proceeded to lie about the misrepresentation after the court case had concluded, and he is still coping about it until today.

If Billy cheated is completely irrelevant, and tbh, I do not care if he did, because it is completely irrelevant to the issue at hand.
I cared about it once upon a time when an Albino Nigger named Karl Jobst had convinced me that Billy Mitchell was a gigantic faggot who was intentionally ruining people's lives over cheating allegations that were 100% factually true. Only for every single entity sued by Billy over those allegations to fucking lose or settle.

Karl presented his Australia case as if he was going to be the one to finally prove Billy to be a cheater, only to prove that he was the bigger fraud.

Billy's cheating was actually relevant in the the lawsuit with the new owner of Twin Galaxies against him and the original founder Walter Day. Basically accusing Billy/Walter of defrauding them since the high score database, the only asset the organization really has, was full of cheated records. Billy owned part of Twin Galaxies so benefited financially from the sale of it. That case would eventually just end in a settlement which included the "historical record database" that includes Billy's cheated scores along with other scores that have been proven to be illegitimate. Best example of the later are all of the extremely fake 2000+ records that former Twin Galaxies referee, and Billy hanger on, Todd Rogers claimed to have set.

You can actually watch Billy's deposition tape from that lawsuit


As for Billy's defense of his tapes, they've pretty much conclusively been proven to have been recorded on MAME. I've posted the Vertias video before, and while it is long I think he does a good job of covering all of the arguments and counter arguments that have been brought up over the years.

I was typing up something saying that the Billy situation is nothing like Todd Rogers and there you went and said it already. That was real cheating, and abuse of power to boot.

Billy used MAME, the lawfare around it was pretty lulzy. Without fighting it so hard it would've been a nothing: His rival from the movie also had scores removed not for using emulation but the wrong hardware. Was Billy cheating? Probably not, but the scores likely should've been removed under the rules. Then canceralbino did his thing and suddenly wtf I love Billy now.

A solid discussion for the wider community to have would of course be some kind of certification process for emulation. Because at some point they have to worry about the fact that there is no more original hardware being made.
