The lego obsession continues to confuse me though. It's such a common trait among lolcows and man children. Why? They're not challenging, I put together giant spaceships in the instruction book when I was 8. Is it for some sense of accomplishment? Just arrested development? Autism?

To be fair to adult Lego enjoyers, it’s basically like doing a puzzle or playing a puzzle game on your phone. It can be a fun pastime when you have extra time on your hands, plus a lot of people Jer’s age would have a kid to be doing Legos with, so I think adult enjoyment of some childhood play things has an evolutionary quality.

But like a lot of evolutional qualities, it can go too far, which is where you get man babies who choose not to really grow up (including choosing not to have kids) so that they can continue playing with children’s toys uninterrupted.

I don’t know that I’m seeing anything autistic from the Quartering, but autism definitely runs high in adult Lego builder community. My son watches Lego build videos and the ones that build planes and ships genuinely have the ‘tism. Quartering is decidedly the arrested development type, which is also incredibly common. Again, Legos are like puzzles - should someone forgo having kids and spend thousands each year on regular flat puzzles? Probably not. Is it ok to have it as a lil hobby, even as an adult? Probably yes.

I think I actually have some new context for why he does what he does because of this crash out. I think he actually is delusional enough to think that he's so big that he can muscle out everyone else in the competition. It's true autists make up a higher percentage of those with above average intelligence according to studies I've seen. Extrapolating that to all autists is incorrect and it's like that's like saying sociopaths are successful or intelligent. You find so many of them among politicians, CEOs, etc and hell, they're always smart in the movies. No, the majority of sociopaths are stupid criminals that fill ghettos, trailer parks, jails, and prisons. Most autists are at or below average intelligence.

This was the first study that came up when jewgles autism and IQ. it shows that autists skew both higher and lower on the scale while having a lower percentage in the average IQ range. Autism is not a superpower no matter how many times your mother or some pedowood jackass repeats that it is.
