The movie bugs just don't seem like something you could befriend is all I'm saying. I've never read the book. I only know the starship troopers fight the bugs in their mech suits and cool shit like that. Wish they had adapted that.

Here in Los Angeles it is still cheaper under Trump to get gas, than it was under Biden. Under $5 at Costco, 5.69 at my closest local gas station. Biden it was always over $6.

Go a few pages back. After seeing a gas pump at Civic Center/DTLA charging almost $9, me and a few other Californians went and checked ourselves, so you guys wouldn't have any need to rely on globohomo newsmedia outlets. And it is in fact, still cheaper. Why is this important for everyone? Because if it's cheaper here, it's cheaper where you live too, because we're the most expensive after New York.

I read it again recently, pretty worthwhile especially if you're into military fiction. They actually fight two different alien races (iirc humanity eventually allies with the non-bugs), which sadly didn't make it into the movie.

I always thought that it was heavily implied in the book though, or am I misremembering? I've heard so many fan theories about things that sometimes they bleed into the actual media.

I think misremembering. It's a pretty controversial take so I was on the lookout for it, but there wasn't anything.

edit: Starship Troopers was intended as a juvenile novel (Heinlein's last of those) so imho governmental double-dealing wouldn't have been a suitable theme/plot point. Remember it appeared in 1959.

This isn't the first time this has happened to me. I have had so many people online and in my life who have read blood meridian tell me that judge Holden is the literal devil that I started to think that. When I went back and read it again it's not even alluded to.
