Now that we've hit the GSG goal and the 600 milestone, I hope the payments stay consistent. Once the hype of it all starts dying down, people might start pulling back. I hope we can hit the 700 mark so it'll give some good fluctuation for when that starts to happen.

Edit: Also, please NEVER remove the kiwis at the bottom of the page. I want them to stay on the site forever like the comic background.

about to drop a money order for a year's worth of sneed in the mail, so count me in on the stats this year at least

thanks Jersh!

I guess this is why you shouldn't count your eggs before they hatch.
I'm just happy to see that he's finally using basic marketing techniques.

I understand the squeamishness around it.

1. marketing is inherently manipulative because you have to finesse what you're communicating
2. the retarded and the innocent - people we sympathize with and are pained to see taken advantage of - are especially susceptible to marketing wiles, and
3. it's actually pretty easy to part a fool from his money, which is torture for people who care about righteousness, because they know they can over-ride another person's self-interest just by using a few slick gimmicks.

However, every cultural portrayal of a bad/evil salesman boils down to this: the salesman is bad when he does not believe in his own product, but sells it to you anyway. I can think of no cultural notion anywhere on Earth for all space and time where a salesman/merchant is vilified for selling what he believes - even wrongly - is a good product.

Therefore, it's okay to put the shine on for stuff you think is good, and it is not the salesman's responsibility to worry about whether the other person is a gullible retard or not. His responsibility is to make sure his product remains good and that the money doesn't blind him into self-deception. That's it. It's not even his responsibility to determine whether the client needs the product - that is ultimately unknowable because the client may die tomorrow. (Whether a client/customer needs something is the job of Consultant, not a Salesman.) This also avoids what I call 'The Drug Dealer Problem' where you tell yourself 'it's okay to take a fool's money because someone else will just take it from him anyway.' Because the drug dealer is selling an inherently bad product.

Banks normally prefer ACH for repeat Bill Pays as it is cheaper and faster, but it depends on your business account type and fee schedule usually and if the recieving bank is equipped for it. Hopefully, its something that can get worked out.
I don't know how the banks do it, but I've entered payees my small bank has never seen, and they mail a check or two to them and suddenly I notice that it's been moved from Check to Electronic. Maybe it's for big things only, maybe they somehow see the details on the ACH clear.

Agreed. I've worked in sales before and while I didn't care for that style of work, hence leaving it, I didn't mind trying it because both times it was for products I believed in and used myself. For example when I tried selling cars it was for the same manufacturer that makes what I drive.

Just ran the payments that arrived in the mail and about half of them were new - thanks everyone!
Do you have any rough plans in your head in case things keep on rolling and you end up with an overabundance of subscriptions? I think 2000 is perfectly attainable.

We have just vanquished LFJ's ugly visage from the page.

I've tried to find it (and failed, obv.), but I'm still not clear on the process to sponsor Gold for another Kiwi, or if I can use my "banked" donations to buy T&H for someone.

Appreciate any help given :)

Just realized that I accidentally sent 18 shekels of my own country’s currency instead of euros - do I still get to enjoy my golden banner for those 4/5 days?

Thanks for all the hard work, I hope even those few euros will help for now.
