I wonder what a prolonged closure of the Hormuz Strait would do to the price of crude. What could we realistically expect to happen if it stays closed for lets say 2 or more months with no realistic end in sight?

Once strategic reserves run dry would the least profitable 20% of global industry and fuel consumption have to be priced out of the market by like $200 a barrel brent crude?

At what? They don't want Iranian Azeris because they outnumber Azerbaijanis 2 to 1 and the president of Azerbaijan is a Pan-Turkic Sunni who hates Shias and Iran whereas Iranian Azeris view themselves as the ruling class of Iran due to the fact all the Royal Families of Iran being Azeri

So these guys aren't even in the strait? They're just chilling off Iraq? And at least with the suicide ones it's a one shot deal. They'll run out of those sooner than later at this point.

Do these retards not realize that they're just weakening their own case? Sure, they can probably scare speculators into driving oil futures up for a day or two, but they're not even just "defending" the Strait anymore.
They're attacking ships completely outside their territory with no real military value. That's not a plan for long-term success.

Iran has possibly a few hundred speed boats they can modify into water drones which is what they meant by suicide drones.

The MOAB can only be delivered by a C-130 but with drones loitering over Tehran and one-shotting checkpoints I could see Trump flexing like that.
