I fondly remember my first experience with dirt sheets in the late 90's with this one schoolyard chum who knew of the death of JYD and on a certain monday morning he said that a couple of jobbers who dressed in flannel pants were going to be repackaged with baggy jnko jeans like ravers and have Doc Hendrix (sp) on the next Raw and you know something he was right those two were the Hardys and they indeed come out with Hayes like a new generation Freebirds.

I'm thankful my first experience (at least that I remember) with dirt sheets wasn't until the early 2000's when the luster had already started to wear off of wrestling and ECW and WCW were already dead. Didn't really care if a random Thursday Night Smackdown got spoiled at that point.

Same. I finally got to find out what DX were showing on the Titantron that one time on RAW (the curtain call) because at the time I watched it live I had no idea what the fuck it was.

I can only hope that I age as well as Finlay has. He's older than Regal by 11 years, but they both look more or less the same age. Father Time asked if he could look more like his age and Finlay said "why don't you make me, pussy"

It's depressing watching Pillman's kid because it's apparent he didn't get a single, solitary shred of his father's charisma or skill in the ring.

It always sucks being in the shadow of someone who was considered ahead of his time. I can only think of two wrestlers that managed to escape that shadow and carve out unique identities for themselves, that being Randy Orton and Dominic Mysterio. Cody's arguably a bigger star than Dusty ever was in terms of financial success, but he'll never be able to break away from his father's legacy (although in his case, he probably prefers it that way given how many doors Dusty's name has opened for him.)

The Rhea/Jade beef (along with other women jumping on Jade) reminds me of the old Jerry Lawler quote: all women secretly hate each other 😆

it does say a lot that 3/4 guys in both mania main events this year have relatives who also wrestled, you’ll probably see this continue for the next 50 years but your also gonna see self-made guys like Obi Femi get the rocket strapped to them

Dude might just kill himself due to the fighting.

E: Also, take a look at old wrestling usenet posts. This should have a cross section of stuff from 1990-1999:

Speaking of which, 911 chokeslams "Jungle" Jim Steele and Paul E. dedicates one to The Renegade:

I didn't get it at first until I read Jungle Jim was one of WCW's choices to be a Warrior knock-off.

After two months in Stardom, Maki Itoh is giga over and inarguably the hottest act in Japanese pro wrestling, doing insane social media and merch numbers. She had a great match in the Cinderella Tournament last night. I thought for sure that she was going to flounder in the workrate promotion because she's always been mediocre at best in the ring, but out of nowhere I guess she decided to flip a switch and is pulling off these legitimately good matches that are the best of her career. Amazing what a change of scenery can do.

I honestly don’t think Pillman Jr has a big ceiling in the industry, you look at someone like Bron,Fatu,or Oba and you can immediately see star power, with pillman Jr he just looks like a generic AEW guy (which he used to be to be fair)

Same (around 2004) even though I feel bad doing that bc it wasn't til 👃 reign of terror I just quit for Abt 7 years.
And as expected, 2K nerfed the Submission cheese method to power level your Battle Pass. Now, matches must be at least 1 minute in order to get the full Match Win EXP (105), otherwise you only get the game completion EXP (30).

Custom Matches will give EXP now at least.

And a 2K MyFaction dev commented on Xitter about how Submission cheese method isn't fun and is cheating the system. People obviously were not happy about that comment:

Cannot hate take 2 enough. But these types of wwe fans pay 1000s of dollars for seats at ples. So they kind of deserve it.
This happened apparently.

Can Dave not be a flaming fagget for 3 mins

Pillman Jr is charismatic on the mic and he does okay character work but that's about all he's got going. Compared to say, Ethan Page also in NXT (who's more or less the same guy) he comes off as pretty middle of the road.
even someone like Jevon i’d say has more potential, even if he’s in the midcard his entire career he could still do very well, I don’t see Pillman Jr really breaking the ceiling beyond maybe that, which isn’t always a bad thing but I don’t see why he’s leading this new stable in nxt
