The Directorate of Public Security has warned of the dangers of some video games that may appear child-friendly, but contain seriously dangerous psychological content, including the recently viral Doki Doki Literature Club game online and video-sharing platforms.
The director confirmed that the game initially appears as a cartoon inside a school, but it gradually turns into dark psychological content, including sensitive scenes and topics such as depression, self-harm, suicide and psychological disorders, making it unsuitable for children.
Director noted that the danger of this game lies in its deceptive nature, as its cartoon design and attractive colors may drive children to experiment without realizing the nature of its true content, and its severe psychological impact on children.
The Director noted that exposure to this type of content can cause fear, anxiety and stress in children and teens, and reflects on their psychological and life behavior.
The Directorate of Public Security has instructed parents to ban or download this game on smartphones and electronic devices, and monitor everything that is downloaded or viewed, as well as encourage conversation with children about safe internet use and electronic games.
The Directorate of Public Security has renewed its affirmation on continuing awareness efforts to protect children from digital risks and promote safe use of technology, urging reporting of any content that may pose a threat to children's safety or mental health.
