This again is time. There is a big difference between enjoyable cooking, where you have time, and being knackered after work and school runs with grumpy hungry kids hanging off you. Having to provide hot meals under time pressure (I know people do it for a living, I mean on top of that.) will kill most people’s enjoyment of cooking - it’s certainly killed mine. Which is a shame - this is another bit of modern life that’s really shite, not using time to cook properly, get the kids involved in the prep work etc. It has knock on effects of stress and health.
Being able to spend time, without pressure, and get things right, is a luxury most working parents don’t have daily. For me it’s a weekend thing, and I enjoy it more then.
A man who enjoys cooking and actually cooks decent meals on a work night? Amazing. I want one!
