This is pretty much a standalone. You can watch it and you don't need to have seen anything else in the Lupin franchise. (There are people who have only ever seen this and have never seen any other Lupin-related material.)
 
Summer season started. What're you guys watching? I need to catch up on my Spring seasonals, and am gonna watch Knight's and Magic. I enjoy the web novel and manga as a guilty pleasure, so I'm hoping it's enjoyable enough.

I've seen the first ep. It's jumbled as hell and pretty terrible. Hoping it approves, the Gundam Tristan is a lovely design (even if the gunpla is shit)
 
Yo, we've got a trailer for the new 2 seasons of FLCL.


On top of that, a few new anime from Trigger were announced, one that was promised to be made by the same team behind Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill. I'm assuming that means Imaishi will be directing it. It's called "Promare".

That's dope--but here's the thing: they're gonna be theatrically released. Have to say, the art transitioned very smoothly to digital, and since it'll be released to theaters, the animation should live up to it. Should, anyway.

More Imaishi anime is always welcome. The crazy bastard is worth continuing to watch modern anime.

No release dates or anything, unfortunately. Imaishi usually has a pattern where he'll release a show every 3 years or so, so maybe it'll come out either this year or early next year.

Gridman is supposed to be some kind of superhero show based on another series from the 90s, so we got more Japanese cape shit coming our way.
 
I just want to talk about the most annoying Manga I sadly purchased at the age of 13. It was so bad that even my weeby 13yearold self hated it, it's so bad I've been trying to sell this book for the past 5 years and no one has bought it from me, and I can't give it away because it's a shit story. It's called: SAKURA MOTHER FUCKING HIME

I bought the manga when Barnes and Nobles had this "Buy2 get 1 free" sale and I had just finished one series so I wanted to get into a new one, I thought it would be good because ,shit weeb me thought the art was amazing so it had to be good but was I fucking wrong. It's a romance magical girl story about a girl named Sakura who's a princessu and is also immortal because I don't fucking know she just is. She was supposed to be married to this one cuck who was already betrothed to her just to get her immortal powers to fight for this one emperor's empire. So when Sakura refused to get married she runs out and gets attacked by a demon but just when Prince Cuckeru decides to go save her, that weird magical girl transformation happens and she defeats the demon but now Sakura is considered a threat to Cuckeru who decides to try and kill her, so she has to escape. So as she's escaping this spoiled little princess suddenly becomes an OP ninja and at some point Cuckeru tries to make things right by finding her long lost brother and they find out her brother was immortal too and was stuck in a water chamber so he couldn't escape but this was all a ploy for Prince cuckeru to kill Oniichan~
I never went out to buy or even read the rest of the story, I ended it at when Prince Cuckeru tried to kill Oniichan~ but some how Oniiichan~ got an army while he was imprisoned to protect him. No one in this story had a saving grace they're all annoying, the art is good but the story is shit. The main protag is a legit Mary sue with all the mary sue backgrounds/ people unconditionally loving her/omg she's actually really nice when she's not being a total bitch. The story moves way to fast without there ever being a moment to breath and assess what the fuck you just read. It's clear Prince Cuckeru and Sakura are supposed to be together but it's so forced.
I don't know how this story got 4/5 stars, this had to be reviewed by a true weeb.

On the topic of shitty manga, does anyone remember Descendants of Darkness? Two words: dead gay. Once again, pretty art (especially around book 3 and 4) but oh, lord, the everything else...

:o Oh man, and I liked Full Moon wo Sagashite. She worked on Sakura Hime the most (wait, no The Gentleman's Alliance Cross has slightly more chapters), she must've really wanted to write that story.

But how interesting that no anime has come out of Sakura Hime... then again, it's shoujo, and she hasn't had an anime adaptation since Full Moon.

Oh man, this is by the same person who wrote The Gentleman's Alliance Cross, which is also shit.
The main character is a blatant Mary Sue who happens to be a ridiculously strong yankee-turned-good girl and is in love with the main guy for reasons. Her adoptive brother is in love with her but she's completely oblivious to it and the plot pretty much revolves around her trying to become senpai's gitlfriend. Turns out senpai pretends to be gay so girls don't bother him but his best friend actually is gay and is in love. He becomes friends with Mary Sue out of nowhere and decides to tag-team with her. Also there's a bi trap who is implied to be in love with the gay guy. IIRC there's even a moment where the trap threatens to take Mary Sue's virginity if senpai doesn't want her.
It was so fucking stupid, I can't believe I didn't drop it right away. Then again this was back in middle school when I was subscribed to a magazine called Shoujo Beat and enjoyed pretty much everything they published. I think it's safe to say Arina Tanemura sucks ass.
