Spy Sats are always moving over the sky. 200-600km usually. NRO's visual satellites like to sit at 250-300km for optical resolution. Radar can be 400-700km.

And now the spacey part that trolls flat earthers: 200km altitude has an orbit of 88.4 minutes and 700 has 98.8 minutes, before even dealing with issues of phase, or, the ground track passing 22.5* westward each pass because the earth spins under the orbit. so while you orbit like 15-16 times a day you get 1-2 useful passes per day depending on what target and swath width and particular orbit.

The only way you're fixed over a position is geostationary, so, 35,786 km above the equator. Hormuz is close enough to the equator be seen, but you're really fucking far. You can't identify ships from that range. You CAN detect launches and snoop on radio communications, however. "Hey that pixel is a rocket launch!" is fine for doing that, but not for "this is a target we know we want to track and can track it."

Estimates (that could be entirely fucking wrong) are like 5-8 actual imaging recon sats at any given time mixing optical and radar) for Russia while the USA has $$$???? and there are the commercial ones that everyone can just use or pay for.

So yeah, you might have a satellite just pass over and go "HEY FAGGOTS HIT THAT SHIP!" if it's one of the closer ones and you're unlucky and want to then launch your shit and every eye in the sky goes "THAT FAGGOT SHOT THE SHIP" and a F35 blows it up in 15 minutes.

what's stopping them from putting better cameras with stronger magnification on satelites in geostationary orbit so they can see surface action in high resolution?
like, the tech clearly exists, we have telescopes and shit that can take pictures of the fucking moon, so how hard can it bee to look at earths surface from 35km away?

Not to mention most of these numbers are simply from immigrants from Islamic regions. Even the fucking Indians know not to fuck their family but then again they only reproduce through rape.

to get a usable resolution is still very difficult at that distance. NRO and DOW need to be able to identify specific vehicles and other things. pictures of the moon while very detailed are not to the level you can distinguish individual boulders.
KH11 has a resolution of 10cm per pixel. Newer satellites also use radar imagery to be able to see through clouds and at night.
A geostationary satellite is also stationary lower alt. spy satellites have some freedom of maneuver to position for better observation.

in a real war spy sats won't last long anyway, they'll be shot down pretty fast.

US for certain, Russia certainly could years ago but who knows about now, China has done it and Israel can as well. the Europeans should be able too.
Most ballistic missile interceptors can be used to shoot down satellites. anything capable of interceptions outside the atmosphere.
US has shot down satellites with F-15s before:

The median US salary is 62k. This would essentially mean half the country pays no taxes at all. And you don't need to think to hard to see why such a promise would be popular. Even if they would never follow through after elected.
