The gulf states are overflowing with jeets but they're strictly used as slave labor and have zero rights. No one there is under any illusion of them being elite human capital that deserve to replace the natives because they work so hard and their food is so heckin' good or anything like that.

Because orange man is in office and literally anything happened.

Taking a moment for my hobby horse since the US market dropping was mentioned as well, people need to get really comfortable with US stock under performing eventually, either for a short painful period or for a long dull aching period.

Right now people are paying roughly 50% more for a unit of profit in US stocks than they are for other developed countries. This has been great if you already owned the stock, as people were will to pay more and more for a claim on the future profits of US companies. Because of this your stock portfolio gained value in excess of the growth in the profits of the companies that you invested in.

However for the future, either the US is just some safer market than the rest of the developed world (likely somewhat true) and so you will have to pay more now for the safer returns on US stocks (meaning lower overall returns).

Or, the future expected profits of these companies which make up the majority of the US market cap are already built into their current price (the main likely driver). So if they actually meet those profit growth expectations, their stock price will go up significantly less than it would imply. And if they don't, they crash and drop in significant value once investors realize their high growth expectations were misplaced.

To be completely fair that scene almost certainly gave a huge chunk of our generation a rape fetish. Even I remember feeling some odd things during it but by the grace of god managed to pull through, at least I was 13 and had been jacking off by that point so i had some context.
