I don't understand how Anton thinks this is a good idea. They will verify that the money is actually going to pay rehab and an attorney. GiveSendGo will try to verify his lies and then be forced to return everyone's money when they find there is no lawyer, no rehab facility, and no contact with the purported recipient.
 
When I was in the military, every once in a blue moon, some kid working for me would go AWOL. I would call them up and it was usually.

"Get your ass back here"

"You got to come and get me"

"Not how it works"

The military would effectively just get what is an nation wide arrest warrant on your identity. Any interaction that results in getting you ID checked for warrants would tag you. So usually anyone gone would get picked up relatively quick. But Tarl doesn't drive. He is already a shut-in. He has no job. He looks so old and drunk, no liquor store is checking his id.

I suspect that eventually, whoever he is shacking up with gets sick of his shit and calls the cops or he causes a drunken domestic call. I wouldn't be surprised that this will take longer than people expect. For all intents and purposes, he is a homeless nutter that doesn't interact with society.

You gotta remember when she was shacking up at Chateaux Warwick, Tarl was fucking her but he was spending most of his time talking to Mel and dreaming of Sam, even though she's getting him thrown in jail.
