On the contrary, Styx is like way more cogent here than normal because someone finally clocked him in the head to bring him back to his senses. You can tell because he took off the fucking pirate hat.

This is like a COPS episode from 1996, only, it was 2026.

Not a single person deserves pity, except for the officers who have to deal with these reprobates.

Nikki's Interview

Officer Washburn said he'd been there several times, I guess that means there's been police visits to the house we don't know about.

Tarl's Interview

Maybe I'm reading too much into his tone, but I don't think Officer Washburn likes our pirate friend very much. :(

There's something inexplicably funny to me about the holding cells being 5 minutes from Tarl's house. Very convenient.

Counterpoint: He almost committed a femicide because he's a violent armed psychopath who hates women.

Maybe next time his gun won't miss.

I think that's how the state of Vermont is going to look at this.

Wishful thinking, I know, and I apologize if I have the cases mixed up.
Local police never want someone to get away with a crime like that since it could lead to more people committing similar crimes. Same reason why cops will chase someone at 100mph through a schools zone: they don't want trashy people to think they can evade justice. Cops hate domestic violence incidents and the last thing they'd want is for more people to think they can get away with doing that sort of shit.

They probably know exactly where is and are just hoping he'll kill himself so they don't have to deal with him anymore.

The thing that floors me about all of this, above all else, is how Tarl's parents are housing this clownery.

On one hand, yeah, I get it: That's your son, and you don't want to throw him out on the street. On the other hand, though, I would not be tolerating girlfriends moving in and out and causing so much drama like this. Especially at almost 40. What the fuck, lol.

Call me a hardass, but I would absolutely draw the line at romantic partners moving into my house if there's no marriage involved. No fucking way.

Also, this is the first video I've seen Nikki in. Ohhhhh I hate her, lol.

Not only that, there's a non-zero chance, (statistically) that's he's on his way to murder Sam right now.

Would Tarl consider fleeing to Mexico like Ethan Ralph?
He might be able to afford the tin roofed shack real estate like Ralph in Merida.
That would be funny, but have you considered his crippling anxiety?

I know, it's probably getting old, but the funniest part of his spiraling to me is how scared he is of just walking around town. Now that he's in NYC that has to be extra intense. Will he go to the Owl park just down the block from Mel's house? No, are you crazy, there's people out there.

There is no reason why Styx can’t escape just by fleeing if it’s executed well. This isn’t a murder suspect, after all. If keeps low for a while he could run out the statute of limitations or start a new life elsewhere.
Being a fugitive keeps the statute of limitations current. You can't just "run down the clock." The statute of limitations only apply if you're available to answer to process.

He obviously doesn't think she's dangerous. You don't let the suspect ride in front with you if you do. Especially these days. And she's pretty well-behaved, doesn't chimp out, etc. I sense he has a certain amount of sympathy even though he realizes he's dealing (maybe not for the first time) with a bunch of crazy retards.

"Another domestic, huh? How many times you been out here, Washburn?"
As domestics go, this is probably almost a relief. You aren't going to find a woman beaten into a coma every other week. Instead you find some crazy pothead who beat the shit out of a scrawny vampirate in a tricorner hat.
