With the Hormuz closed Dubai will run out of food.
It's not closed in the way you suggest or for the reason one would suspect.

The insurance collectives that insure shipping are required to collectively have enough cash to cover a once-in-two-hundred years loss. The increased risk due to Iranian threats changes the amount one could expect to lose once every two hundred years, increasing it dramatically.

Getting the necessary cash or restructuring the risk can't be done immediately, so that's why insurers stopped insuring vessels transiting the strait. Vessels without insurance can't operate legally and that's why they largely stopped, not the direct risk of Iranian military action.

This also explains why Trump is planning to offer insurance. It solves the immediate shipping problem.

The insurance collectives are in the process of getting cash and restructuring risk, and when they're done in a few days, shipping will go back to more or less normal even if the conflict has not yet ended.

The siege thing is interesting. Because of the topography and population of Iran, I had assumed they're reliant on tons of imported food, but that's not the case, importing between 10-15%, which significantly less than other Gulf States.
Also the mindset, radical Shias fetishize suffering and martyrdom beyond what’s imaginable to most westerners, even if the US achieves total victory in the cities and the submission of the army and ruling class, there’s going to be some zealots in the mountains making the Japanese holdouts from WWII look like pussies for the next century.

And Israel informs that Total Hezbollah Death will be a permanent Item on the McDonalds menu

The Lebanese assume this means a medium/long term occupation of Southern Lebanon, as Israeli armed forces are gathered at the border without an evacuation of northern Israeli villages (meaning the close range threats from the other side of the border will be tackled)

following up on this Hezbollah pulls a uno reverse, using a hebrew language broadcast to call on israelis to evacuate 5km away from the border

according to Macron, this means Hezbollah is winning:

Also apparently Macron has the novel suggestion that Hezbollah surrenders, Lebanon disarms them (they promised to do this in 2024 already) and Israel leaves.

Lebanese media, who are famously ill-informed on reality in general and Israel in particular, report Israel will navel invade the Beirut suburb of Dahieh (the evacuation zone from yesterday). Beirut and surroundings house some 2.5 million of Lebanons 5 million population. The actual Israeli approach seems to be centered on immediate action in the Shia south and pressuring the Lebanese government to act in shia suburbs of Beirut; they don't seem opposed to "peace" talks with the Lebanese government either, the hard sell being that someone has got to do the removal work

Russia is providing Iran with targeting information to attack American forces in the Middle East, the first indication that another major U.S. adversary is participating — even indirectly — in the war, according to three officials familiar with the intelligence.
Assuming those "officials familiar with the intelligence" even exist, this just proves how shit Russia's intel capabilities are compared to ours, seeing Iran's continued failure at killing one soldier past the first day or taking down one plane other than some debunked Twitter rumors.
YES, TRUMP. GO FULL POST-NUKE JAPAN ON THEM. THERE WILL BE NO NEGOTIATIONS. SURRENDER OR DIE.

I know we are told to focus on the news buuuut...

that better not be a "special operation" for years...

Anybody remember when it was just foreign outlets and propagandists (like Baghdad Bob) who broadcast blatant lies in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary and not American journalists celebrating alleged failures of American foreign policy?

Yeah me either.
If you want to hear propaganda that would make even the IRGC blush, just turn on NPR.
Yesterday they were claiming that the US was a liability for its allies in the Middle East (because they blame the Iranian attacks on the US) and that Americans allies should reconsider the relationship.

I was so disappointed when their promise of their imminent demise because of Trump and Congress both defunding them turned out to be total bullshit.

When that defunding happened, they (and everybody else) screeched endlessly about "censorship this" and "independent journalism that," and NPR doomed and gloomed that they were all but dead in the water without that delicious taxpayer money.

And yet they're still broadcasting bullshit, still publishing bullshit, business as usual. Fucking liars. I was promised a comical self-immolation.
