Basically Reagan forced the air force to buy a plane that does nothing better than a b-52 at much higher cost
The Bone can carry more munitions than the B-52, and at Mach 1+ speeds, and the range for both is comparable. Plus, zero losses in combat.

And it carried about 40% of bombs dropped in Iraq while flying less than 1% of all missions. I'd say it's earned its keep by now.

We're going to retrofit the bastards with hyperdrives and use them to bomb illiterate sand aliens in Operation Earth Fuckyeah (2137).
I do in fact have a meme for everything:

Much like how Russia could've adopted China's strategy, but Putin was too damn inept for that and wanted the shiny glory of conquest. So we find ourselves here now.
In regards to Ukraine? I would argue that western influence in Ukraine has been too strong for such a strategy to work as they had sorta tried that pre-euromaiden and we saw how well that went...

Its oil futures that have gone nuts. If Hormuz is opened in a week, the price hikes should be readjusted within a month. How high and how long prices go is going to depend on how long the strait isn't navigated, which is why Trump is offering Trump Golden Insurance or whatever name he'll come up with and then thank us for our attention.
It really makes these stickers look retarded right now. Folks would do well to scrape these off if they have ANY self awareness. I'm personally of the opinion that gas will hit the same, if not exceed, the height of Bidenflation. Taking Iran and the straight out of commission for a few weeks is tectonic plate levels of upheaval. And no, Venezuela's oil doesn't help. It's sour crude and our refineries can't deal with the low grade efficiently to produce at the same cost.

To counter supposed NATO expansion and West in general, though I'm sure everyone knows it's just an excuse anyway.
Having nukes gave Russia potentially infinite time to tackle such problems, there was no reason to rush. Even if Ukraine became EU and NATO member, nothing would've changed in that regard. Just look at Hungary desperately clinging to Putin despite everything. Anyway, this will go off-topic real fast, so better drop it here. I can already more or less predict your response.

The problem with comparing WWII air campaigns to modern air campaigns is just how much more accurate our weapons have become and the implications behind that.

Well I'd say that it was in the interest of the west to further escalate the war in Donbas enough to kick out the Russian backed resistance completely and use Ukraine as a proxy to poke at the Russians outside of just Donbas. Their control over the Ukrainian government (combined with the Ukrainian nationalist/Banderite movement) enabled for the west to not have to worry much about Russian influence in the nation especially since it was mostly removed after 2013. (Going back to my first sentence with the following: this why they didn't want Ukraine in NATO.) As for the EU, they don't want Ukraine in there cause it would assrape the agricultural industry and make the other eastern euros mad.

Fair to drop it off at here.

Carter cancelled it because he saw firsthand the B-2 and f-117 projects and authorized them, when Reagan called him weak because he cancelled the b-1 he was forced to to reveal the stealth bomber and buy 100 b-1s against his will.

Another side effect was that the B-1 turbine was transformed into the core of the 737 engine and exported globally by the 80s, including china, where it was reverse engineered and became the core of the fighter jet engine program.

Basically Reagan forced the air force to buy a plane that does nothing better than a b-52 at much higher cost and which it's cancellation and then reinstatement meant that it's high performance engine was allowed to be exported and ended in Chinese hands.

Other way around Reagan picked the b-1 in the early 80s because the b-2 was facing delays and they needed a stopgap bomber. While he was criticized for restarting the program it was just a stopgap until the b-2 became operational. I get what you mean about engines but ge should’ve not worked with the French on engine development but that’s another story

WW2's Eastern Front was a unique circumstance in that if literally any other, even slightly more reasonable regime than Nazi Germany had invaded Stalin's USSR and enjoyed the success of Barbarossa's early stage, the Soviets would have been finished. The Germans captured nearly 3 million prisoners and if they hadn't been run by retards overdosing on meth & racism, they would have recruited a whole new White Army out of said POWs to bury Stalin with, if that particular pedophile & pedophile-enabler had been popular he wouldn't have been embarking on his mass purges & totalitarianism in the first place.

Unfortunately because we don't live in the ideal timeline, the Nazis killed their prisoners (whether with straightforward executions, working them to death in slavery conditions, etc. - contrary to the Clean Wehrmacht myth, it's long since been concluded that random German footsoldiers would indeed execute surrendering Soviets for the lulz early on out of their own volition and even without orders from on high) and raped, burned & pillaged their way through one Russian town after another instead, turning what could have been the world's #1 anti-communist crusade into a war of survival for the Slavic peoples. No shit no more Reds were going to surrender if they'd just be murdered anyway and Stalin had been turned from their oppressor into 'better the devil we know'. It's proof positive that you can absolutely have too much of a good thing, like racism.

Meanwhile as I have recorded in this very thread, the USAF/IAF has generally been pretty good about not striking Iranian civilians (that one girls' school next to an IRGC base, possibly, notwithstanding) and the orders from Trump & Pahlavi both to anti-Islamist Iranians to take shelter & wait until after the bombs stop dropping in such quantities before they try to topple the IR again still stand as of this writing. This has resulted in Iranian civvies being so bold as to film and cheer for the bombings from their windows & rooftops. I'm sure you can tell the difference between that and the Eastern Front of WW2 even with whatever drugs & booze you've got pumping through your system today.

Over a million POWs fought for the Germans, nearly 1/3, the highest defection rate of any major group of PoWs outside of Indians fighting for the Japanese. These defectors freed up massive amounts of manpower and were the sole reason the Germans could maintain their frontage into 1942 and '43 with the largest insurgency in human history being directed by the Red Army soldiers that didn't surrender and obeyed orders to go insurgent. Nearly all of the erstaztruppen and ostruppen were made up of soviet PoWs.

The ummah may have suffered its greatest blow yet. The quantity of AI videos of Tel Aviv getting bombed will go down tremendously. Peace be upon our fallen accounts run by 19 year old Pakistanis.

This reminds me of a story about a guy who hacked Al-Qaeda websites and replaced everything with porn. While it would be hilarious to see this tactic return, the internet has too much porn as it is.

That being said, Osama bin Laden is in Hell getting force fed ham sandwiches while being made to watch shitty anime on repeat for all eternity.

Venezuela's oil doesn't help. It's sour crude and our refineries can't deal with the low grade efficiently to produce at the same cost.
This is just incorrect. The US gulf refineries were built with the intent to refine shitty heavy sour crude. Almost all of American oil imports are from the tar sands of Alberta because we can refine stuff that bad. America was the biggest buyer of Venezuelan oil before Chavez took power.

Having thought about it a bit, it could be because US is held to much higher standards than anyone else, being strongest military and all that. And I doubt any other force on this planet cares as much about preserving their personnel as America does - soldiers are only allowed to die to their own burn pits.
Usually losses are a given, it's only a big deal with it happens to US, regardless of how disproportional in their favor it is. America's detractors are just that desperate for flaws to point at.
I could probably do a deep thought post on American martial traditions. Especially when it comes to the ritualistic mourning. It originates from the citizen militia tradition, and then from the fact that up until the end of the civil war, American Regiments were raised from their local municipalities.

When America goes to war, its not because a King decrees it. It is because the small counties, towns, and states accede to the national interest and send their boys. Even after the World Wars this fundamental concept was hard coded into the DNA of the American military. The national army and navy did not have a "right" to the lives of these young men. They had a duty. Their lives were given, with the expectation that their value would be respected.

This has translated over time into a martial tradition that prioritizes not wasting soldiers lives and engaging in ritualistic mourning when lives are lost anyway. Outside observers who do not understand American culture or history see this and assume Americans are afraid of spending soldiers lives to accomplish the national interest. Which is a fatal mistake too many enemies of America have made.

America is not afraid to spend its soldiers lives. It just does not want to do so unnecessarily.

Footage from a hotel in Bahrain's capital Manama following an Iranian attack. It's rumored it was an assassination strike.

Now see, I've understood that the oil companies had modified their operational refineries to take advantage of Sweet Light once we lost access to the Venezuelan oil as a primary source.

Yes, and I'm well aware of the existence of formations like the ROA (whose commander Vlasov was IIRC the highest-ranking Soviet defector of the conflict). I don't doubt they could and would have had even more (a lot more, at that) if they had been able to keep their Slavsperging in their pants instead of implementing Generalplan Ost, however.

Alberta's Tar Sands are even heavier and about as sour as Venezuela's, so the capacity still exists. Most sweeter and lighter grades of crude are produced domestically.

Generalplan Ost was never implimented, the Rosenberg plan was. It sill involved an apartied state with Germans at the top, and every single jew and communist party member was executed on sight, but Ost was a proposal that never became policy, like the Morgenthau plan.
