A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

On my trips to Haggis land a few years ago I went out of my way to visit as many "local" independent businesses as I could. Almost all of them across the towns I visited were run by shit libs and were full of rainbow shit. They were the people putting on pride parades and running refugee help center shit. It's especially bad if you go to "Jimmy's chippy" and abdul is behind the counter. And it's not Abdul from 30 years ago. They're fresh off the boat and bought out a retiring chippy. Keeping the same names and everything. So they claim to be award winning when they can't even clean the fucking floor. In regards to Scottish Independence.

It has to first be understood that Scotland is, or at least was, a country. Not a colony like Ireland and not annexed like Wales. A full on independent country, recognised by other countries and with it's own legal system and parliament. This all changed with the Act of Union in 1707 which dissolved the Scottish Parliment and combined it with the English Parliment. Scotland maintained it's separate legal system (Scots Law) and Church. It should be said that at no point was Scotland ever fully conquered or colonised by England.

Then for a variety of reasons you had the Jacobite uprising in where supporters of the Stuart claim to the throne tried to overthrow the Hanoverian Monarchy (William of Orange 1690 ect). This involved Bonnie Prince Charlie leaving exile in France and landing in the Highlands. There he and an army marched for London intent of picking up supporters as they marched through England. The Jacobite plan hinged on the English joining them, this tends to get forgotten by Nats just like how not everyone in Scotland supported the Jacobites. This all culminated in them getting routed and their eventual retreat and defeat at Culloden near Inverness. The result of this little rebellion was Scottish Lords carrying out the Highland Clearences where Highlanders were forcibly evicted and punished for the whole rebellion thing. Somehow this was the fault of the bloody English.

The British Empire was pretty much in full swing give or take for the next hundred years so Nationalism died down. Then Ireland gained it's independence and a shit ton if those fucking micks emigrated to the west coast forming shit like Celtic and Rangers. Then WW2 happened and the Empire began to break apart, it's at this point you get the modern Indy movement starting to form. For the next few decades you get a gradual rise in support for the SNP which at this time were pretty conservative known as the Tartan Tories of all things.

Fast forward to 2014 and you get the Indy ref. It is at this point you have two factions within the SNP, the more conservative Independence supporters under Alex Salmond and the mick bootlickers under Sturgeon. Long story short Sturgeon's faction one and the entire movement shifted into complete stupidity because taking notes from the Irish and trying to apply them to a Scottish Indy movement is fucking retarded. This is because Irish were disgusting tribal savages before the British civilised and united them and Scotland was a proper fucking country.

The Indy movement is so retarded because they're applying Irish tactics of screaming colonial oppression to one of the countries that actually colonised and oppressed Ireland. The modern state of the Indy movement is literally the fault of all those micks we let in during the 20s.
And they wonder why the polls are stuck at 50/50.
