I don't think people fully grasp that Chris likely views raping his senile mother on the same level as saying nigger, ie not very seriously. He thinks he can just blame autism and people will eventually forgive him, hence the "redemption tour".

It amazes me how many people treat him porking barb like it was some unexpected 9/11 style event, and it amazes me even more than anyone is emotionally invested enough in either of them to seethe about it or forgive him in the first place. The Chandlers (except Bob, to a degree) were and are dysfunctional degenerates, and when you're dealing with people like them this stuff is more common than you'd think. Borderline inevitable. All throughout christory, Barb was oddly intimate with Chris. When the house burned down, she forced him to sleep in her bed to comfort her and even he felt uncomfortable with it, and that's just one example of many. I think in Barb's dementia-addled mind, she got straight up rapey with Chris, acting on the feelings or saying things she normally wouldn't. And Chris, retard that he is, either somehow thought it was okay because she "wanted it", or he knew it was wrong and used it as a flimsy excuse. What Chris did was objectively vomit inducing and immoral, but frankly, I struggle to care. Barb was an awful person and so is Chris. To me it's like if Bill Cosby turned senile, lived with P Diddy, and we found out that Diddy and fucked him. I'd be surprised by none of it and feel bad for neither of them. My only reaction would be "Yeah, obviously."
This is a guy who drew porn of women he personally knew and implied it kept him from raping them. This is a guy who thought his girlfriend died in a fire and showed no emotion. This is a guy who genuinely believes cartoon characters are going to come here via rick and morty dimensional portals, and that he is their god. Anyone who's hung up on the Barbussy Incident isn't looking at this through the correct lense. He's certifiably mentally unstable, and at times almost feral. I'm more pissed off at Chris for being so boring post-jail saga. His only contribution to society is his ability to amuse people and he's failing miserably at that.

Well, Power Rangers and My Little Pony are both owned by Hasbro, but I doubt Chris is smart enough to make that connection. He probably just wore a Power Rangers costume because that was the franchise on his mind at that specific time.

I believe it. The monoculture is dead. Everybody is sequestered off into their own little algorithmic bubbles being fed "content" that appeals only to them and people very demographically similar to them. Do you ever have the experience of coming across a celebrity you have literally never heard of before, but who apparently has millions of adoring fans and multiple hit singles? I have, quite often; take "d4vd" for example, that R&B singer who (allegedly) murdered a 13 year old girl. Did you know who he was before the murder? Did you know he composed a song for Invincible? Did you know what Invincible was before I mentioned it?
There are millions of people, some of them very young and very active online, who have no idea who Chris-Chan is. In turn, those people are indubitably familiar with and invested in celebrities and content creators who are completely unknown to you or I. That's the way the world works now. Welcome to the 2020's.

Chris is somewhat exempt to this given his status as the ur-lolcow and his importance to the history of KF (the farms isn't mainstream or anything but it's a known entity among the terminally online), but this is the case for most lolcows. Who remembers Connor Bible, Grotesque, or Marijan Šiklić? Those guys were big time lolcows when I began lurking the forums in ~2015 and now they're just .... not.

I think it's also worth to remember that a lot of people look at Chris like an example of online bullying the weirdo autistic kid (or adult, since he was fully an adult when he achieved Sonichu "fame"). So a lot of places will have outright banned discussions of him as they only view him as a victim and a lot of people don't even know about the whole "raping his elderly mother" saga. Him raping Barb was probably the first time that a lot of people realized that yes, he is genuinely that disturbed and lack of any boundaries. It's not obsolete, it's just evolved with the times. There are 2 main categories of lolcow now: 1) boring tiktok cows like Nova or Tophiachu that only exist to be milked by soulless slop youtubers and 2) genuinely disabled people like Josh Block or Danderson who get tortured by actual psychopaths.
The concept of a "lolcow" still exists, and Chris is always going to maintain a degree of relevance because of his historical importance with regards to the concept. It's like how most crappy B-movies from the 50's/60's are long since forgotten, but Plan 9 From Outer Space is still remembered because it's the ur-example of that genre.

Maybe if he could just not act like an idiot, keep a low profile and not give himself away, he could probably go to these conventions with zero trouble. If you're just walking around a hotel hallway in full body cosplay, I imagine it'd be hard/pointless to catch you unless you were chimping out in some way.
