I have to wonder why Chris wants to attend these conventions so badly in the first place. He doesn't do well in large crowds, and he only enjoys one specific "generation" of MLP. Before he gets thrown out, does he actually have fun at these things? Or does it all just stress him out? What is the best case scenario in his mind?

No evidence other than guess work, but I suspect it’s him trying to talk to the voice actresses from the cartoons.
To my vague recollection, the more famous ones blocked him on Twitter and other social media platforms once he started bothering them about the merge.
In his head he probably thinks that dang dirty trolls have told them lies and if he gets to see them he can talk them around.

He might also still think that if he shows up, his “fans” will want to hear from him.

If he shot up the place, it would look bad for the authorities who've enabled him, but really no worse than it does when some nigger with multiple violent priors gets off on cashless bail and kills a woman or something.

Probably the worst part of Chris shooting up the place would be that a national/international audience gets exposed to him. Like, a hundred times worse than when he was featured on Tucker.

Because, in his autistic mind, cons are the easiest way to get appraise and approval from others. Back then, some people would approach him and ask for a pic and even an autograph, things that rarely occurred in Ruckersville. And Chris doesn't care if he's banned or if the Jail saga made way less people wanting to be associated with him, his narcissistic mind sees the attendance of conventions as his sacred right, because he's that awesome (and any negative opinion about him is all the trolls' fault) . The whole Jesus Larping only makes things worse, because now he's pursuing followers and wants to be regarded not just as an artist, but as a god.
Also, maybe he thinks that if he orbits around cons enough he would eventually get his own panel, but it's just my personal speculation.
