Why did Disney think they could get a way with taking a multi-billion IP by trying to make it focus on fag, niggers, and winemoms, injecting woke, and in general insulting and doing everything possible to drive off the previous target audience?
Because they thought the target audience were disgusting, basement-dwelling weirdos who would be outnumbered by said gays, racial minorities, wokies, and wine moms, which was their experience with Marvel, where they catered the MCU to the lowest possible denominator instead of the aging comic fans, and they made billions.
Star Wars isn't Marvel. Pre-Disney SW had its own formula and audience, which had way more influence and power compared to pre-Disney Marvel. Pre-Disney Star Wars had a Canon timeline with video games, comics, cartoons, and novels that had a beginning, middle, and end, it had the six films which were cultural touchstones, and it had its own video game ecosystem with many generations and genres of video games to its name.
Pre-Disney Marvel, on the other hand, had few video games, the comic audience of adults was shrinking, they lost the kids to manga and anime, and their stories were rife with retcons and resets that made it hard for people to get invested, when the stories they purchase were doomed to be retconned.
