I don't personally think Trump did anything intentionally that caused it. The market has been totally retarded for ages. I was surprised that BTC remained relatively stable for a long time. I think this crash was bound to happen at some point because you cannot have infinite gains.

I think people are just starting to see that every economy worldwide is literally a random ass joke and some nigga in a suit pushes a button and prints more money whenever they want.

I'm interested to see when we'll see a crash of house prices, although I don't imagine it will be too sudden - all the "accidental landlords" out there are gonna start losing tenants because they're getting laid off + no one can afford that shit so they're going to have to dump the rent prices to even have a chance of meeting their mortgage obligations.

I think I've accidentally muted someone by accident at least by being a retard and clicking the wrong thing. I remember noticing ( back during weeb wars if I remember) that this one dude with the dogmeat avatar (forgot his name) had mysteriously stopped posting. And I liked his posts so I was a little bummed out.

Someone eventually quoted him, and when I clicked on the quote I wasn't taken to the original post. Then it clicked.

I'm worried it might be a slow and then sudden thing. There is a concerning economical bomb in play that is difficult to gauge the size of in the form of HELOCs(Home Equity Line of Credit), as well as anything else that is backed by assumed real estate values. Once real estate starts going down a bit, the magical assumed value that is backing the loan starts to disappear, which can trigger fine print clauses forcing a whole lot of individual busybody boomer landlords to momentarily pay back those lines of credit before reestablishing them, which they won't be able to do without selling that 3rd and 4th and 5th rental homes they bought using the equity of their earlier properties. More properties get dropped in a must-sell manner on the market, real estate prices go down further, process repeats.

I don't know how loans businesses get based on their assets play into the situation, but it seems like similar threat might exist there. Also I have no idea if this is a small fringe thing or if it is a "If real estate ever goes down 15% tons of companies and millions of people will immediately be broke" thing.

Usury is one of the most insidiously evil magics this world uses, and the housing market in particular is drenched in it. I chose awhile ago to not sign away 30% of my next 30 years of income to buy something I can't afford, but so long as everyone else is doing so I'm stuck hoping that interest rates will go up higher and higher so that I can afford a house. Give me those 15% rates the old people tell me about, back when a house only cost 3 years income up front if you didn't want to pay 30% for 30 years, instead of this 6 or 7 years income you have to pay with low rates to add up to 30% for 30 years.
