i'm interested to hear why you think the african peoples of the entire continent failed to even reach south american levels of technology, despite allegedly existing for longer. i'm happy that you disagree, but you could at least tell me what you disagree with, and how my thinking is sloppy or a 'story'. the african continent as a whole did not industrialize until it was colonized. asia and europe had both reached large-scale cities while africans still had tribal conflict between villages, and most large groups lacked written language of any kind.
this is in contrast to south americans who had developed large cities (for their populations) and large-scale buildings, as well as written language and even proper science.
also, the 'two paths' thing is settled at this point.
they even go into detail about how there have been multiple mixing events. it's convergent evolution through interbreeding.
they literally talk here about how the 80% genome likely comes from europe as well, since the same source is later the one with 2% neanderthal DNA, which is european.
here, they give detail to how it's likely that the DNA from the 80% group was involved in removing harmful and low quality genetic mutations from the 20% group. even british science is slowly catching up with this idea.
