OP:
Idk like... what's the difference.
I struggle to put into words why this bothers me so much, but it feels a bit fetishizing as well?
I understand that your average trans man is probably safer to be around than your average cis man, but still. Completely excluding all cis men?
Like I've read posts from people who say "anything but cis men" is their sexuality. No... that's a preference, and a backwards one at that.
Anyone feel me lol
Comments:
"As a gay trans man who has a preference for t4t, I totally agree with you. I'm not gonna assume a cis man is abusive because he was born with a dick, if I like him, I like him."
"probably bc it feels like a flag for gender essentialism, and for them possibly not seeing trans men as men. I get it"
"It puts me in the weird situation where I feel like either Im being called a bad person to my face or I’m not being seen as a man. And both feel bad."
"It's like when ppl have in their bios "cis men DNI". I don't want to have to out myself just to interact with someone"
"my friend says this (well, they said “women, nonbinary people, and trans men” but same diff) and we had to have a talk with them

"
"Trying to be progressive in one hand, while being gender essentialist in the other.
Cis men are people and people aren't a monolith. Cis men aren't all monsters. Lots of them are awesome. I suspect a lot of this attitude comes from traumatic experiences gender minorities have faced at the hands of people who were cisgender men. It's behaving like their cisness makes them bad which I find abhorrent.
This attitude makes cis men believe they can't change for the better or will always be dangerous too. The cismen I'm friends with have been hurt by these kinds of ideas. I hate it."
