Sons of Mobius is an upcoming total conversion Game Mod for Hearts of Iron IV, based on the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, though primarily taking inspiration from the comic book series by Archie Comics.
It is year 3236 on planet Mobius, and the Eggman Empire is preparing to put its plan of world domination into motion. Having earned support of the Battle Bird Armada and Iron Dominion clans, Dr. Eggman prepares to march onto all that remains of the free world, primarily the Kingdom of Acorn and its Freedom Fighters. The free world itself has other pressing problems to attend to: there's a political turmoil in the Kingdom of Acorn; the human-led United Federation seeks to dominate the anti-Eggman coalition, despite being threatened by separatists within its own borders; the communist Rethenia seeks to expand its military and political influence; and who's to say Eggman himself is entirely safe from internal enemies?
Pick a nation to control, and either bring freedom and everlasting peace to Mobius, or subjugate it under your iron fist — the choice is yours.

There was also a Mario mod but that never went anywhere.

The people behind it were East Europeans, there's a telegram chat for the mod and a VK. But hey, their soundtrack is out.
